lovely watch. ive had mine since last friday from iconic and couldnt be happier with it. the lack of weight whilst still being 42mm. the amazing bracelet, better than rolex or my recent omega which i thought was good too; and the lume! the lume is amazing. cant stop looking at the lume tbh.

Had mine for 9 months, LOVE IT... these are off the radar for most people, at the moment, wait until September and see them gain a bigger fan base when 'officially' available in the UK.

Comment about the Lume... it really does light up the room at night!....

This is driving me insane; I can't decide whether I want a Pelagos or a Black Bay. Obviously I want both, but can only really justify one atm & I think I've set my heart on one of them for my next purchase.
Black Bay please biggrin

Red or Blue?

I think I'd go Red Black Bay over Pelagos but maybe Pelagos over blue Black Bay!?
laugh

The Pelagos is very nice, but, I had a titanium Omega SMP and it couldn't take use as a daily wearer, the titanium, while being gorgeously light, doesn't have the mass of SS and couldn't absorb daily knocks etc. It had to go back to Omega for repair to the movement twice in the first 18 months because of this.
So I had to 'sack it' as a daily wearer, and bought a Sub instead.

I do fancy a red Black Bay though...... will have to wait until next year though.

I love these lume shots. I must get the camera out later and have a go myself.

In the meantime: First impressions.....

It's just what i expected it to be! An everyday, quality tool watch that i'll happily knock around during everyday life yet be comfortable wearing with dressier clothes at more fashionable locations. Everything feels accurately made and solid, very much like it's more expensive Rolex brother but at a fraction of the cost. The first impression of quality is really very close indeed. The bezel is very solid and has limited play, the movement feels as good as any other ive used, it's not too light despite its Ti construction and the face looks really modern yet strewn with hints of it's heritage. Thanks to the anti-reflective plating the face can be seen from any angle, especially when submerged. The clasp is amazing. Whoever designed the mechanism within needs a pay rise! As good as the modern Rolex clasps but with the addition of a comfort focussed spring adjustment for those times when you need that extra flex in your wrist.

Here are some pics:

Another box filled!

Eddie (aka no more watches for 2014.....honest!)

Is the F1 set at the wrong time or did the Tudor already lose a bit? Nice collection, I'm really thinking about the Yachty but feel it will replace my Explorer as a daily watch and I'm not sure I'm ready for that to happen!

I wasn't as anal as some on here with regards to setting all the watches to the correct time. Phones are for telling the time these days anyway!

Yachty as a daily? Not for me. The platinum bezel is too much a risk for me to consider it a daily. I have mine as a special occasion watch and no more. It's a lovely item and oozes class but it's just too easy to knock on something nasty. Even as a jeweller i dont fancy repairing a dented platinum insert. I bought my 3 month old son an identical watch when he was born. Him having the same as me will stop me from nicking his when i fancy a change.

I've got a couple more in another box too. Got a Sochi edition Planet Ocean that i picked up at xmas, a Bond edition Planet Ocean that i got as a px at work, some old Seiko's i use for parts, my wife's white Rado ceramic, my wife's small faced Seamaster with blue bezel / face and my wife's mini-Constellation.

I dread the new Tudor range arriving as i can see myself falling prey to the Fast Rider range!

I've got a second pelagos coming from a uk AD after the Sept 19th launch that'll be going for a reduced rate if anyone is looking. I'll stick it up in the classifieds once it arrives.

Patina on the watch doesn't bother me, I've been wearing a bi metal for years as a daily prior to the explorer. Sorry, didn't mean to offend, it's just I set my watches as accurately as possible usually smile

Has there ever been a collection thread?

The weird colour combination Fastrider (black ceramic with gold markers and hands) has been haunting me since December, i'll be in France next week so will no doubt be nosing around every shop in my path!

Thing is, recently I've REALLY had the horn for a black dial 42mm Explorer 2!

Have to agree about the comments on here about Tudor watches. Was in the Caribbean and the AD was having a half price sale. That in combination with the exchange rate meant the Grantour chrono could be had for about £800- bit of a bargain.

Christ. I would have gone mad. The trip back via customs would have been tricky.

I'm wearing my Pelagos today - first day back at work after two weeks holiday during which I only wore my SMP. A colleague wearing a SubC said "that's gorgeous. What is it"?

I think the Tudor range is going to be very successful. The Pelagos, Black Bay, Heritage Chrono and Fastrider are all great designs. Apparently the work of an ex Panerai designer, according to the Rolex customer experience director.

I'm in France and saw a blue Black Bay tonight, havn't tried it on YET but I'm really taken by it's looks in real life, SOOOOO much better than the photos!

Also, the Fastrider Blackshield on tan alcantara with gold hands is a totally different colour in real life, the strap is much darker as are the hands and hour markers, nice feel to it but definitely not £4k Euros!

Having seen the price hike imposed for the UK market ive pulled out of the deal with my AD. Got mine coming from an AD in Milan now. £1800 in uk money, brand new and already in the post. No brainer at that price! Should arrive this week.

MY LAST WATCH PURCHASE OF 2014 according to the missus.
Love the Pelagos, any chance of a PM with the AD you used?

Just received this month's GQ in the post and there is plenty of advertising announcing the launch date of 19th.

5 pages of adds, all on the heritage range with special attention to he black bays (blue and red). quite a big spread, although i'm sure they get the Rolex discount!

Anybody know which is the cheapest country to pick up a new heritage black bay (and a ranger come to think of it)?

I really fancy a Heritage Chrono, but the price in sterling is £3100 and when I was in Italy recently it seemed to be cheaper than that in Euro's. Am I imagining things?
