Thanks chaps. I didn't realise they were so robust. I think I will wear it to work tomorrow now.
I was a little bored on the train home so had a read of the oyster perpetual date just sales literature. Certainly an incredible sounding bit of kit. Very proud to own one.
been wearing my one for 5+ years daily, in which time it has gone up from £4k new to £6k new ! If anyone asks you if it's real, you then have the lovely choice between "yes it is and my wife/dad/lover/accountant bought it for me" or the even better "no, it's a fake from Thailand. I can't afford a real one !! " and a warm inner glow.

just get it well insured on your house policy including cover away from home, and photograph it yearly with a copy of a daily newspaper in the background, and if it gets nicked or a shark bites your wrist, buy a new one.

I've got a milgaus. I wear it every day, service machines in it, site service calls in it,, anything. It's totally bombproof. I love it because I can just wear and enjoy.

I've been wearing my lady datejust pretty much every day since I bought it in 2005. The only damage it's ever incurred was when it dropped face down onto a tiled bathroom floor and shattered the face - and it wasn't actually too expensive for Rolex to fix and service in the aftermath.

Not wearing it is a waste smile

Wear and drink in the beauty every day. Don't get to precious about a watch as part of the attraction is the utilitarian nature of this particular manufacturer.

Congratulations and enjoy in good health.

Its a little strange if you think people are happy to buy a car for at least 5 figures and leave it in the street, car park etc risking shopping trollies and car doors damaging it, even if no harm comes to it that car is depreciating by the day yet they will buy a very respectable watch thats tough as nails and actually going up in value and be reluctant to wear it!

Get them on, enjoy
