Well it seems to make an informed decision, we need to know what you earn. We don't want you wearing anything inappropriate.

Brilliant hehe

TP321, I'd suggest that the services of a good proctologist are of a more pressing concern for you than the purchase of a watch; since your head appears to be firmly wedged up your own arse.

Not really, you've just offened most decent people's sensibilities with a truly w*nkish statement.

Ok go ahead and explain to me how someone on £30k needs a £5k watch other than to pose and make himself appear more successful than he is..A responsible person on £30k pa doesn't spend £5k on a watch

Perhaps, just perhaps, somebody earning £30k sees a watch they like at £5k and thinks, "I like that," and starts to save £104 per month for 4 years and buys it outright? Your attitude is breathtakingly arrogant and condescending.

Because they like watches? And are willing to cut back spending in other areas to afford a more expensive one? Much in the same way people do with cars...

Lol. I half agree with the OP but that's life. But then we all have our vices. I have a problem with spending money on cars (yeah yeah I know my audience). But money on a watch. No problem whatsoever.

OK so you live in a bedsit, take the bus, but because you like watches you save up for years and buy a Rolex..Great attitude to life - you will get far (provided the bus doesn't break down..LOL)

To be fair that's a lot of assumptions. £30k is an ok wage. Some sensible choices and its more than adequate to live on and have a bit of a life. Throw in a partner on a similar wage and you're free to splash out once in a while.

But at the end of the day. If you want a Sub then buy one. I can afford Gucci if I wanted to but it doesn't stop me shopping at Primark if I see something I like.

Who cares if they've financed it.

It really does sound like someone’s life hasn’t turned out quite as they had hoped, terrible attitude to have. What a prat!

Nobody *needs* a £5k watch, just like nobody needs a £10k watch. They buy either because they either a) appreciate the design and engineering that went into such a piece or b) shove how much they earn in everybody's face.

I've got a fiver on which one you are...

You have been shown up as a bit of an idiot already, but as this is one of the most ridiculous things I have read on this forum in years it's worthwhile me saying my piece as well.

You use the word know, but of course you don't really 'know' anything. You assume, or at best take an educated guess at what these supposed people earn. You don't have a clue in other words, of their income, outgoings or financial situation.

They might have inherited 150k the month before they bought the watch, they might have other sources of income or investments, they might have substantial savings. The watch could have been a gift, or as has been pointed out to you they could have saved up for it, as many people do.

Whatever the case may be, they don't have any more or less of a right to buy a sub than you or anyone else.

OP, what did you buy last year when you asked the same question (but with half the budget)?

What Chad said.

Of course, if that actually needs to be spelled out to TP123, then we're wasting our time here.

What a tit.

Must be inflation in Trollsville. First time around it was £5k, then this time it was £10k.

Anyone care to hazard a guess what it'll be next time around?
