What watch for every day for £10k?

What are you going on about? You're asking for advice on buying a 10k value watch and criticising people for buying rolexes when on a certain wage yet you consider 10k enough for buying a luxury watch! Please look at your salary again and only consider buying a proper luxury watch when your salary is sufficient to afford at least 1kg of beluga caviar a day. My god! The gall of some wannabes nowadays!

If this was a serious thread which it obviously isn't, I'd choose an IWC Portugese Automatic with a white dial and blue hands. £9250 and a bit of change to buy a strap next year.

Portuguese is a beautiful watch. Nice blue croc leather strap makes it a watch for all occasions. Hasn't changed much in price over the years if that is the current price

I'd be tempted by a Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic in steel. It doesn't have a date window, but is antimagnetic, shock resistant, water resistant, and should work with both dress and casual wear. They're a limited edition of 800, and I think that they've largely sold out now, so should hold value well.

If you're after other, leftfield suggestions then how about a Cartier Diver? In house calibre; relatively slim case so it can be worn with shirts; and, unlike most other "diving" watches, actually has the professional certification to be called a diver's watch.

Or the LUC 8HF? They're about £12K, so slightly over budget, but have the first chronometer certified 8Hz movement. The first series was of 100 pieces in titanium, whilst the second (coming soon) is in black ceramic and PVD titanium, and will be 250 pieces.
