G-Shock screen issue. Help please

As per title folks,

I have a G-Shock module No. 3750. The display behind the face has decided to fade so it's illegible under normal viewing. If I press the night light button it works as normal and when the light goes out the display is back to normal and visible for a short time until it fades again.

Is this a battery issue or is it borked?
