Rolex Milgauss
Discussion
Looking to add another Rolex to the colllection and ideally a white dial.
I'm not a fan of the cyclops on Rolex's, so this only really leaves me with the Milgauss (not interested in the Daytona)
Any views on them? Any Sub owners have the Milgauss as well?

From a non-owner perspective, I think they're the nicest watch in the current Rolex range. I know some people think that the lightening bolt second hand is a bit much but I think it's great touch and differentiates the Milgauss.
I had a look at one a while back and I was very tempted, but as with all Rolex, I find their pricing a bit hard to swallow.

I have the black face/green glass and really like it. not sure about the white face (same with the explorer 2 as it is such a stark white) but thats just a personal preference.
also find that the lightning is a bit more subtle under the green. have to say that the blue face that was released looks very nice too but not seen it in the flesh yet.

I've got both. Had a Sub for a while but fancied treating myself to something different for my 40th birthday. They're about as different as you can get but I really do love mine and tend to wear one for a month before switching to the other. More details in this thread (I wasn't the OP):

I looked at a milglaus and Aqua terra and for me the omega was my preference as it had a date function.

That said though I opted for a sub with date and haven't looked back. They are all great functional watches and any decision to buy will be the right one.
Enjoy choosing!

following on from this yesterday i actually got mine out of the safe for a change and it's a lovely, comfortable watch with a nice weight to it.
feels a bit sturdier than the daytona too. can't compare to the sub as mine is an older model (non ceramic) but have the newer GMT and that also feels weightier than the older daytona and Sub.
the Milgauss is my preference of the non-sport models.

The Milgauss GV is the only Rolex which really appeals to me. I like its elegant simplicity - no divers bezel, no date, etc. I'd prefer it if the centre links on the bracelet were brushed, not polished, but overall I like it. I doubt I'll ever be in a position to afford one, but if I was in the market for a Rolex I would certainly be looking more closely at one of these.

This for me; it is the only Rolex in my modest collection, although of late a Daytona has been tempting me. Don't like the new one with the blue face though, little bit too much going on for me.Rich_AR said:

There are other choices ie a Sea Dweller has no cyclops and you can get submariners/GMT without a date and hence no cyclops.I'm not a fan of the cyclops on Rolex's, so this only really leaves me with the Milgauss (not interested in the Daytona)

Terra Aqua is the other one that came onto my radar but I just don't get the Omega brand.
What is there to get?? They make watches..... Just bought a new Aqua Terra, and at almost Half the price of the Milgauss, with a date, and a 4 year warranty on the Co-Axial 8500 movement, makes it a bit of a bargain in my book......
In 2011 i was looking at a Milgauss with the Green sapphire screen LV version i think it was called.
And i also wasn't a big fan of the cyclops then i saw the DateJust II and fell in love with it.
don't limit yourself to the Milgauss as you might find a better Rolex.
go out to your local Rolex dealer and try some on.
