I think a watch is more than just a fashionable timepiece. Much like a name, it says a lot about a person, you'd expect a 'Tyson' to wear a G-Shock, subsequently a Rupert may well wear a Zenith Elite.

We all choose our timepieces very carefully, be it the history behind the watchmaker, aesthetics, appreciation of movement and the engineering.

That being the case, what does your watch say about you?

What, all of them?

PS These days, Rupert probably wears a white F-91W and skinny jeans.

Different watches for different occasions which say different things. Omega is smart causal it says Professional, Raymond Weil is for nights out it says Tasteful. Jorg Gray is for casual and everyone says WTF is that?

Apparently my daily wearer tells me i should change my name to Rupert.

I bought a Zenith because Google tells me that Zenith means:

"the time at which something is most powerful or successful."

A fair reflection of myself, as backed up by a goatee and powerful stature.

I love the engineering that goes into making a watch, the intricate detail, the mix of materials and the history in the movement to get to where they are today. I love the astonishing quality that Omega can manufacture to.

The bezel on this watch is ceramic and the numerals aren’t inked on, that is a zirconium based alloy which is pressed into the laser etched bezel. I love the colour and feel of the grade 5 titanium watch body and strap.

I’m not sure what my watch says about me, I dont show it off, it’s my thing for me to enjoy so it’s usually covered by a shirt sleeve, it’s a selfish opulence but it’s a nice feeling owning something like this.
My other watch is a Casio F91-W.

Say to who? confused

99.999% of the population are about as interested in the make of your watch as they are in the make of your broadband router. And about as likely to know what it is.

Your watch doesn't 'say' anything to anyone, people don't go around looking at other people's watches.

You are mistaken. The .001% who appreciate watches do. And thieves looking for a potential mugging

Mine would say
"WTF are you looking at ?! I'm a busy professional, with a massive desk and company car, and you want me to do what ?

Good God you cretin, can't you see I'm busy"

Wow... my watch is pretty rude eh ?
Who would have thought.

depends what i'm wearing, and depends on who's having an opinion. Personally i don't think they say anything (about me, that is...., things like Hublots are a different story lol)

but if i were to generalise.
99.9% people just see something that tells the time, and probably don't care.
0.05% think i'm a flashy knob caused by jealously, pre conceived ideas
0.05% look past the brand/image and form their own opionon, and realise im possibly an okay individual who just happens to like watches.

6'4" lanky git wearing Marathon CSAR on wrists far too skinny for it
Watch tells people I dont care what others think, I like something I go and get it.
Other than that, not much else, except it tells the time

And do you judge the wearer by it?
