Nothing fancy. I'm after a G-Shock as I need something hard wearing and, well, tough.
Had one years ago and that lasted well. Killed off in the end when the resin casing succumbed to too much hydraulic fluid (don't ask) spilt on it.
All I really need is the very basic features of:
Analogue display.
Date.
Waterproof.
Not a stupid neon colour. White is also out.
I know all G-Shocks will have those features so anything else is a bonus and a bit gimmicky, but at the same time not worth paying the extra for. That said, what other features have people found unexpectedly useful?
OTYG.......

I just purchased my first G Shock this week. What attracted me to it was the analogue display as this isn't the norm for this type of watch.

Bargain from eBay though I can't find the seller I bought from (£61), perhaps they are all sold out but it is this one:

That watch is a great tool watch, the only thing that let's it done very slightly is the night time illumination, which isn't that clear IMHO.

That looks the bobby. Seems to get a lot of negative reviews though, for poor LCD grey-on-black illumination.
How d'you find it? (And don't say "I just look at my wrist and there it is")

Bob, as my post above, fine during the day but a little tricky at night to see all the sub dials, albeit the main hands are illuminated sufficiently to tell the time with the back light illuminated.

Have narrowed the choice down to a GA100MC as that seems to have better LCD contrast and a canvas strap (I always find it's the strap on a G that fails first).

I quite like these: http://amzn.to/YCiZ6Z

But I do love my Riseman. Damned useful watch.

being a cop, I like sturdy outdoor watches, Ive had 4x gshocks, they'd all still work if they had a new battery.
they really are tough bds.
they are all much of a muchness, in fact my oldest one from about 20 years ago, has many more features!, My current has a black metal strap and is analogue
http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk/Casio-G-Shock-Watch-G... is pretty good for £70.
