So I'm looking for one. Not too sure if I want a watch with extra features or something that can replace a smartphone, which of course will not really happen due to screen size.

What I'm looking for is one that has:-
A camera
A heart rate monitor
GPS
Wifi connectivity
Bonuses:-
Preferably something that always has the time on display, like er, a watch does!
Maybe the ability to install decent apps
The ability to enter text

The list I have found after about 8 hours of browsing around today are:-

Samsung gear 2 - needs samsung smartphone for gps, missing playstore/not true android, no keyboard input

ikwear ik8 - missing hrm? clone, bulky, always oos

zgpax s6 - missing hrm? clone, bulky, always oos

android an1 - rear camera so you have to take the phone off to use it, missing hrm

ikwear iks - missing hrm? missing gps

samsung gear s - needs samsung smartphone for gps, missing playstore/not true android, no camera, no keyboard input

moto 360 - no camera, no gps, no keyboard input

Any ideas?

The world of smart watches isn't ready for for what I want yet.

The problem is you either get a smartwatch with seriously limited functionality - no google play store, but can sync with your phone and doesn't need a sim to make calls, or they are full android devices that can be used with google play store, but can't sync with your phone so you need a separate 3G sim to make calls oh and they don't stay on - you have to hit a button to tell the time FFS! Both are useless.

The tech is still pretty new. If you don't want to end up in an endless upgrade cycle just give it 6 months - a year.

Also, what would you need a camera on it for?

Cameras are awesome for winning "they said, you said" arguments. You never know when you might need one. Something on your wrist is perfect.
