I had a service carried out recently by my local watchmaker and all is working fine, however, one part that he could not fix, or didn't realise, is that the crown only just screws onto the thread before becoming fully tight. Is there anyone out there that could carry out this repair for me? I do not want to send it to omega due to the wait time and cost.

Have you tried Swiss Time services or Simon Michlmayr Norwich?

If it comes up tight (rather than popping off the threads) then it's going to be one of 3 things. If he repplaced the stem then it could be too long, or he's used a seal that's too thick in the crown, or the crown itself has damaged threads.

A thick seal isn't a problem apart from being sloppy and looking bad, the other two will affect the proofing. All of them are pretty straightforward fixes, but if the crown thread's damaged it's relatively expensive on those.
