looks a little disjointed for my tastes , strap too delicate for the case...much better on the original strap imo
I have it currently on an orange leather strap, but that has started delaminating! So gave me a good excuse to look for other options. Here is a wrist shot.... I thought it didn't look too bad.

actually, now it's on the wrist rather than laying flat it looks a lot less ......"feeble" is the wrong word but "thin"?? looks ok actually, not that you need my blessing like!! Here is a wrist shot.... I thought it didn't look too bad.
Mesh bracelets (Milanese straps) are really comfortable because they have a natural bend radius that makes the whole watch fit gently on the wrist, so they work well on slimmer wrists when a metal link bracelet wouldn't.
Hermann Staib and Vollmer Straps are the best two Milanese strap manufacturers I know of. They both do nice thick mesh (3.6mm or 4.8mm) which is way better than the thin stuff. Staib have the advantage that the links for adjusting strap size are solid and screw in whereas Vollmer's are folded plate with spring pins. I think that's the right way around, but it's a while ago so perhaps it was Vollmer that were the better ones. Cost is about 80 to 100 Euros and you can email them for one.
You're right though that to get a Milanese strap to work properly and look right you really need a curved end piece and tight fit into the watch case, and unfortunately this means having it custom made. If your interested then I found a chap in Japan that would make a custom Milanese strap like this, although his price was £600 each with a minimum order number of 10.

I can vouch for Staib straps. I've just purchased one for my Alpina Extreme Diver (to replace the rubber strap it came with) and the quality of the strap is excellent - equal to that of the strap on my Breitling.
No affiliation however I purchased it from the guys below. Ordered on Thursday evening at 11pm, arrived at 11am on Saturday morning. May be more expensive than you can find it elsewhere however it's a UK based company which meant I could return it to a UK based address, instead of Germany, should the strap not have been true to size.
