Haha, a bit of a tongue-twister title! biggrin

But anyway. I have a lovely Omega Seamaster automatic watch. I bought it in 2002, and it is still going strong and keeps amazing time.

Up until a couple of years ago, it was a daily-wearer. It's my only watch, in fact.

However, my new career of late deems that I must avoid wearing anything from my elbows down for infection control (Paramedic) hence my Omega sits at home for several days at a time, unworn.

Of course, the power runs out after a day or two - and when I am on back to back 12 hour shifts, remembering to wind up my watch is one of the last things on my mind....sleep is normally the first thing on my mind! Hence, when I do pick it up again when I am not working, I have to wind it up, change the time, change the date etc. etc. Not an onerous task, but I guess an 'annoying first-world problem...'

So - I think I need a 'watch winder.'

I had a look on Amazon, and by Christ, there are about a million different ones with a million different prices yikes

I don't need one which caters for more than one watch - so, who has one, what is it, and what do we recommend, on a budget?

Cheers! biggrin

I use a boggo "tutelary" (I think) double winder. It works fine but has gotten a bit noisier with age to the extent that it now doesn't live on the dressing table anymore but In the dressing room. It was about £45 from Amazon. Unless you want to make it a centrepiece or talking point, you may not want to spend much more. I use it for a blancpain, rolex and tissot (I wear one and the other two are in the winder)

If you want to keep it in a bedroom noise levels are (likely) important - and the really cheap ones aren't quiet.

I've had two at the lower end so far - a single cheap which as about £45, noisy, lasted about 2 years.

Then I bought a two turntable/four watch one from eBay for about £100. It was better for a while, quieter, but the motors both died.

With hindsight the ones that take two watches on one spinner are a bad idea - its too heavy for the motors.

You can pay £500, £1500, £50000 - god only knows whether you get better quality then.

Overall its a minefield and I'm as interested as you for any recommendations of decent winders - especially as I now have three autos.

How very council estate.

One ought to have a man to conduct such activities.

yes but; should he wear whilst doing other duties, or just hold it and wiggle it about for a few hours?
Also; when interviewing staff, should one enquire after their wrist action?

The very fact that you have to ask this question marks you out as a non powerfully built goatee'd director - out with you.

Of course you have a man specifically for this task and this task only, should he carry out other duties there is an increased risk of damage occurring.

I am not a powerfully build director sort with a goatee, neither do I have man with a specific wrist action to look after my winding requirements..............so, I have one of these for the Bremont and the Breitling when one is wearing the other or neither smile
