I'm looking to expand my modest collection of two and I was originally looking at individual watches in or around the 1-2k price bracket, but I'm quite keen to see how far I can stretch a £1000 budget to include two nice quality pieces to be bought together.

I'm mostly keen on diver watches and my Seiko Monster practically lives on my wrist but I'd be open to most suggestions. My only stipulation is that I need to avoid smaller, delicate looking watches as they tend to look lost on my wrist.

They can come in at whatever price ratio you can think of, but the total for the pair should be around the £1000 mark.

Lets see what you can come up with.

My choice would be a Longines Hydroconquest and a Seiko SKX007J.

For me?

A pre-owned Hamilton X-Wind - has to have the creamy yellow face though. (if anyone knows of one available anywhere please let me know)

and a Tissot Visodate.

Tissot Visodate Milanais and Autodromo Prototipo. Should come in around £1000.

I've actually tried on a Hydroconquest and discounted it because it looked too slim in side profile for me. A lovely watch but not for me, although I had expected recommendations for it.

That Autodromo Prototipo is really quite nice. I'll do some research into that.

Can;t go wrong with most of the Steinhart range, just try and avoid the most obvious current Rolex 'homages'. My current favourite is the Ocean Vintage GMT which is a snide 1655 but most people wouldn't know a 1655 if they fell over one.

£700 left to play with, I'd be looking at a Stowa, although second hand there are plenty of 7750 chronographs out there too.

2:11. PH is slipping wink Their range is pretty good around the £500 mark.

Orient via Creation have a decent range and I'm rocking one of these (also available in 42mm).

Time Factors, the other PH standard suggestion?

Great choices.

OP - Do they need to be new? You can get a lot of watch used for £1000.

I'm not keen on the PRC200 but thank you for the suggestion. I'm familiar with Christopher Ward from a distance - I'll look into them a bit further.

I'd be happy to look a decent used options. What would you suggest?

I've got an Oris BC3 and an atomic/solar GShock, together they come in budget and as far as I'm concened a pretty good pairing.
