No sir, I'm an accountant. I'm a long-term 'Dallas' fan though and that's JR's watch.
I did pop into Jean Rousseau the other day to order a strap, but something makes me think I'll be laughed at if I took the pic in!
My father, brother, niece are all accountants.......I think you would bring the profession into disrepute if your wore such a thing in the UK smile

If I win the lottery I will hunt out a Seiko Credor .Nothing starts a Watch forum "fight" quicker

I have only ever tried one on and i know it cost shy of 220k ......... But it really is Japan where they sell.

There are some truly beautiful watches on here.

I've read the posts about certain grails being pointlessly expensive and in some ways I agree but I've got one point I'd like to add.

If you got the PH massive to post their 'grail' cars, rather than watches, I can guarantee the majority of them would be enormously expensive. I also bet the enormously expensive cars would not be suitable for every day use in all situations.

Despite this, me suggesting my grail car would be a Porsche 904 GTS wouldn't be met with calls of it being excessively expensive and unusable?

No apologies for posting my grail again :

809 Breitling Cosmonaute from 1967.

THE watch I wanted and I've never come across anything else I wanted half as much.

It's not super-rare or super-expensive (although I felt it was expensive enough!) and doesn't feature a mega-complex movement made of angelhair and unobtainium, but it's, for me, the best watch ever made and mine was the nicest one I felt I could afford biggrin
Similar, but from 1977. A member, yeti, sold one on here recently, but i didn't have the cash at the time. Shame as I recon I could almost afford it now (divorce skinted me out at the time).

In terms of already having one's Grail, mine was the blue dialled Kobold Polar Surveyour. Not the most expensive, not the most horologically incredible, but a watch where only 50 were made and I have never seen one for sale.

An email sent, a much-loved watch traded and I am genuinely thrilled with it. The dial is mesmerising in its colour change.

Mark's Sinn Arktis pictures were something that made me want the Kobold all the more and the GMT hand and day/night indicator were the icing on the 7750 movement. Would live to compare the two side by side!

I'm still torn on Richard Milles. Part of me hates them but another, smaller, part things they're kind of cool. I think I've fallen victim to the relentless marketing.

Is that what they are? I didn't realise, they've passed me by. I've seen the name being pushed everywhere but didn't connect it with funny watches. I don't feel I've missed anything mind you so I won't lose any sleep. laugh

I admire the technical feats of the RMs, but still don't 'get' the aesthetic.

smile Hey, it's your grail man, that's the only important bit.

[Just because one doesn't appreciate RM doesn't mean that ones horizons are limited to high street brands though nono]

biggrin True, I can see the funny side! But be honest as a watch it's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Fine if all you want to do is look at some intricate micro engineering but it's of no intrinsic use which is why it wouldn't interest me. frown Call me a stick in the mud wink
