Tudor Pelagos for ~2.5k or something else?
Discussion
I'm seriously considering a Pelagos around this price point but I feel like I'm waiting for something else to come along and grab my attention.
I'm looking for something new around the £2500 mark and I'm probably going to pull the trigger this weekend. I've considered a Sinn U1 and U2 but my interest has cooled on those.
What else is there?

How much could you push the budget? A little over £3k would get you into a pre-owned Sub (granted, not to everyone's taste), which would almost certainly never lose a penny and have stronger resale...
However, I do love the look and feel of the Pelagos and it is nice to buy something new, sometimes, so I get that you want to go that direction.
Given the choice (if you can live without a date) I'd go with the red Black Bay on the bracelet, new.
Maybe take a look at Damasko as well; they make some lovely, new watches at this price point.

I would definitely agree with you there, but the PO I like - and I like it very much - is a few beers shy of 4k.
Is the jump in quality worth it?
They are available discounted if you search, quality wise the PO feels more weighty but you'll need to try them side by side.Is the jump in quality worth it?

Have you tried the Pelagos on?
I love the look of it, but tried it on at the local AD, and was somewhat underwhelmed.
Great in photos, not on the wrist.
£2.5k would buy a lot of pre-owned watch, you absolutely commited to new?
My thoughts too. If your in London then Selfridges has a great collection of them pretty much every style they do when I was in the other week. Wouldn't buy there but worth trying a few on. I love the look of it, but tried it on at the local AD, and was somewhat underwhelmed.

Funnily enough I was in exactly the same position as you last Saturday.... I went with a view to getting either a pelagos or 42mm PO.... Tried them both, both very nice! Ended up going with the pelagos, the PO is pretty thick and sits high quite high on the wrist I found, very well put together though and if you are willing to pay the extra over the pelagos (circa 1k) then you do get an inhouse movement if that's important to you.
For me the pelagos looked better on the wrist and I'm happy to use it as an everyday watch and not be too precious about it... I must admit that I was a bit dubious the first day or so and thought I should have just saved for a new sea dweller 4000 (bit of a grail for me)
The pelagos is definitely growing on me, case and clasp are very well made and love the matt finish of the watch... I'm a fan of the snowflake hands... For me it's a keeper, and with a bit of man maths the money I saved instead of spending on the PO can get me closer to the sea dweller!
Get yourself down to a shop that's has both of them in stock and try them together... You will be happy with either!
