It's an ex-issued one, specifically made for a German unit (ZUZ), the base is the Commando II, but the unit specified a 60min bezel in addition. It's seen about ten years wear and still holds together very well.

Being 'issued' for the German Customs hardly makes it a Mil-sub !

Epic fail for trying to big up something quite ordinary.

Yes, I'm quite aware that you'll take offence but heyho !

DH01, I see you're full of seasonal cheer. Heyho, ho, ho! biglaugh

Does it have to be a Rolex to be out of the ordinary?

Tutima is one of the German greats. With perhaps only 36 of this watch made, I'd argue that Andy's watch is out of the ordinary.

Crikey, bad turkey this year?

I'll be gentle; it's an issued watch so no different in a lot of respects to a 'mil-sub', not that I was comparing the two anyway, having a superior movement, being cheaper and being rarer would perhaps make it an unfair contest anyway... wink

It's difficult to fail epically or otherwise at 'bigging' something up when you're not doing that; I was offering it as an example and there is little hyperbole in my review or indeed the post I made.

Don't worry, I'm not offended, just a bit bemused. It seemed a churlish and unnecessary thing to say but mainly just made you look a bit ignorant.

Ho-Ho-hum.

Ordered a Pelagos from Iconic Watches,
£500 off list.
Stunning piece of kit,
Can see it getting more wrist time than SD.
Roll on mid Jan !!
Festive Greetings Ian

Andy, I wonder how you could value your Tutima. There's a Tutima Commando II on eBay going for $5733, but that's without the provenance, bezel, etc of your watch.

After Christmas, there seem to be a few Tutimas on eBay. I spotted Tutima DI 300 watches going from £1750 to down to £750 or so. In the context of a watch that easily matches the Pelagos in materials and quality, these are good prices. I've only seen one Pelagos under £2k, but there can't be many second-hand ones for sale yet.

Tutimas in general are quite robustly priced (new) I think, s/h they become more interesting perhaps ( the new ranges especially).
Mine is about £2.2k+ or thereabouts I reckon but its a bit niche.
