You must lead a very, very sheltered life.

I am quite astounded that I am called a troll on here by someone who obviously feels it normal to call someone stupid, when they have never met them or even spoke to them.

Why am I going to make up the figures, do you really think I need to try justrify myself to someone like you?

OP - I know it is an internet forum - and part of it's existence is to help other people.
But - at least try making an effort - people will be more inclined to give you favourable response.

I think it is a case of the populous feeling that :

1. You are just being lazy.
It is a very popular watch.
And the answer is a couple of google clicks away.

2. Free Advert.
This site is littered with Uncle Tom Cobly and all - trying to avoid paying fees to advertise something on this site.
".....I'm thinking of selling.... but I would like to get an idea what to sell it for...." to then entice someone to make an offer.
Hang around General Gassing for a few days - you will spot them.

3. You could have phrased the question thus..
HI... I'm looking for some advice.
I bought this in 20xx for £xxx I'm thinking on selling it before the end of the year - as I want to buy this watch in the January sales...
I see that shop A is selling similar for £xxxx. If I want a quick private sale would £zzzz be realistic?

It isn't about what you are asking - it is how you are going about asking for it.

Nice watch, I have one as a beater, pretty sure you could pick these up new from the Bicester outlet for about £900 a couple of years ago so you did pretty well with it on Ebay.

OK that is fair enough maybe I could have gone about it a different way but I didn't - no trolling reason - that was just how I posted it -
I genuinely thought this forum had people in it who bought and sold watches so would have been able to come back to me with a price - I was offered £400 by a company which I thought was low. What I paid for it, or what someone has offered me should have no bearing on what the general re sale value of this watch is.

Anyway i'm ouuut of here smile

No, because Gould called him a liar and a troll.
he hasn't proven his purchase price yet .....and lets face it, he purposely gave the impression that he had purchased a new watch which he now needed to sell to upgrade to a new model in January

What a lovely part of the forum. I really must pop in here more often. Some real characters in here.
