Received this as a present from a friend in return for the loan of one of my classic Alfas for a classic car run through the WWI battlefields around Ieper.

I'm an oyster man, myself.
I've never actually seen a Day-Date on an oyster as far as I recall.

My Datejust is on a jubilee (I prefer that for the Datejust) but my Submariner is naturally enough on oyster
I've only seen two on an oyster, one is my dads and the other is my mums, funnily enough. I think my mum actually pioneered the whole women wearing Subs etc, she's got a few mens Rolex's, but her Day Date in platinum on an oyster is something to behold. I'll be seeing them next week, I'll get her to wear it and get some snaps of it.

Arrived on Wednesday after waiting nearly 2 months. I'm very happy with it!

Once I get hold of a suitable screw driver it will be going on the official Steinhart rubber strap.

That's fantastic!

How's the lume? Colour? Does it last well? I think I'll order one of these in the next few days

It sounds nice but maybe I'm just too much of a president and jubilee fan. a yellow gold Day-Date will have to come up for me in the next couple of years

If money were no object, I'd have one as well!

received this ebay bargain yesterday. It is totally unmarked and I love it.

I like that. My boss has an IWC that looks a lot like this.

The lume is excellent. Very vivid if you charge it up and legible all night. It's a turquoise blue colour.

New Panerai GMT 0088 arrived this morning, stable mate for my GMT daylight I purchased earlier this year for my 40th. Kept putting it off as I was waiting for the price to go down further, then it went up, so I decided to do nothing, then spotted it had dropped £600 on Friday so pushed the button and its now mine!

I was looking for an Air-King-Date ideally when I bought my Datejust.

Now I'm thinking again I made the wrong choice...

I'm going to have to get one fairly soon.

Had my Airking non-date 10 years last month. Still wear it occasionally but don't love it anywhere near as much as my other watches, it just looks a bit too reserved.

An oldie but a goodie by Ethel of Buzzez, on Flickr

Think this is now about 16 1/2 years old and is now on a new leather strap from Watch Obsession - really pleased with the quality of it, and the colour is a reasonably close match to the dial.

And that my friend, is exactly why I love it...
