Chunky to look at but one of the most comfortable watches I've had actually. It's light but not too light if that makes sense. I've never had a Ti watch before and for some reason I thought it might feel a bit like a G-Shock. It's got a nice weight to it though, similar to my 356 on a strap. Size wise it's a bit bigger than a U-series, but not monstrous!
I always thought there looks like there's a bit of IWC Titan & 3536-1 Aquatimer in there somewhere (courtesy Herr Schmidt & his previous job at IWC no doubt). That's a good thing though; the EZM-1 & 3536-1 share a bleak aesthetic I like. I also like what they've done in movement terms too, the SZ-01 carries the 'centre minute' torch and makes perfect sense for a chrono that is designed to be used. Add to that the usual level of consideration Sinn put into their 'mission' watches in terms of design, construction & legibility and you have one of the most interesting modern chronographs I think.

Today the most comfortable watch ever

Left mine in London and have been stuck with my PAM for ages now, I made the wrong choice, this really is the most versatile watch on the market.

Also a bit of Tutima in there with the recessed pushers. It is an interesting watch and I like that although it's unmistakably Sinn, it's also quite different from the rest of the range. It's part of their pilot collection but as you allude to it's also got a hint of diver about it, particularly the bezel. All in all I think it's good modern looking, multi-purpose tool watch (I hate that expression but you know what I mean!).

From my (limited!) experience, I've found they can differ quite a lot; Breitling Aerospace (40mm) felt like it was made of plastic, my Pelagos on the other hand is so chunky feeling (on the rubber) that it doesn't feel like Ti at all.
I have a 16570 on my wrist at the moment and having worn the Pelagos pretty much solidly for 6 weeks (since new!), I wouldn't have said it felt any different.

Here's the IWC/PD Titan with the recessed pushers; these may be a closer relative both in design and provenance:

I know what you mean - that sums it up perfectly.

That was my big worry. I want a comfortable watch but not one that feels cheap. Although the EZM-10 doesn't look like the Pelagos, I have considered one and it would probably be the closet rival if I was to consider trading it.

Indeed. Very similar case shape despite the integrated bracelet.

I've tried a Pelagos on a couple of times in an AD with a view to picking one up pre-owned and I agree that they still have enough weight to have a presence on the wrist, it would feel odd if it was too light IMO. The only thing that holds me back is that while it looks fantastic in the window displays I just don't get that same feeling when being worn, I usually go for the more stark designs (the EZM1 and IWC's Ti 3536 being two favourites, not that I own either) yet the Pelagos just doesn't click with me. Shame.

Glad you like the watch BC and that it was worth the gamble smile

I've only ever seen them in photos, I should try one really. I actually thought that I may not like it because it is too stark, but then I guess we all have our own starkness threshold.

An ordinary looking watch that hides something quite extraordinary and decades ahead of it's time.

Casio AT-552

Even Microsoft referred to it for inspiration: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/bibu...

Well worth a try IMO (even removing bias as an owner! hehe).
I prefer the way it wears to an SD, as it has a much flatter case back, so sits on the wrist better. It's a big old lump though and my slim wrists couldn't take anything bigger lug-to-lug.
On the SD note, I tried one on the other day, I've been toying with buying one for ages, but I actually didn't like the way it wore so much, compared to the Pelagos; maybe it'll have saved me ~£4k... scratchchin

Reminds me of this which I won in a competition (aged 10) back in 1984 - - the Seiko UC 3000 / Seiko Memo Diary Wrist Information System

http://pocketcalculatorshow.com/wp-content/uploads...

Not entirely very useful for a 10yr old with puny wrists.....!
