The problem with this thread for me is that I take photos using my phone.
They usually come out at around 4MB and the upload function doesn't allow that!

After wanting one last year and ending up buying a Hydroconquest, I took the plunge this week and actually bought the watch I was after!

I just bought this over on the TZ-UK sales corner.

It looks a bit tatty in this photo, but the scratches are nowhere near as obvious to the naked eye as they are in the photo.

What really appealed was the form of the numbers and the markers and that, despite being 53 years old, it's a fairly wearable 36mm (looking, if anything, a little bigger with no bezel to reduce the visible dial size).

It came as a head only, so is on a cheap, generic brown strap for now. It doesn't look terrible, but I think it needs something nicer, possibly a plain black leather strap with no stitching?

1962 also makes it a birth year watch for me, so that was the clincher!

Evening John, not seen your name crop up on BB for a while. Are you ready to sell me that Carronade Bullhead for a good price yet wink

Love that. If I were to buy another watch any time soon it would be a Pelagos; I've thought about selling my IWC doppelchrono back to my Dad to do just that, in fact...

Good catch. Love the numerals. It seems very "atomic age" to me.

Great choice, they are lovely. I was once absolutely torpedoed in this forum for using the words "proper watch"... maybe the more appropriate term is "luxury watch"!

I don't wear this much at all anymore, in fact I think it's the first time in about 6 months, but this was my first "proper" watch and I still absolutely love it smile I think I'll be wearing it for a while now.

Edit -it's an old Tag Aquaracer 300,I'm not with the box/papers at the moment so I can't give the exact details.

It's the only watch I've owned so far that has made me not actively shop around for potential second watches or an upgrade in a year or so since buying it.

The only other watch I might buy is the Hamilton Navy Pioneer as a classic looking dress watch, but then I'd probably just wear the Pelagos more anyway and the Hamilton may as well be a £550 paper weight frown
