All about history and condition, I'm assuming you mean an older model not the new white gold version

Rumours abound that Rolex will release a SS Pepsi this or next year. Same source as those that correctly foretold of the SDc, to much negativity!

When I bought mine (a 1990 watch) back in 2013 I knew that I wouldn't be happy with a GMT Master, it had to be a Master II. In my work-a-day life it's of no practical consequence, but for the odd times I find myself in a timezone other than 'home' it gives me great satisfaction to move the hour hand in isolation to the other hands. Little things...

Mine is a 16710 with Pepsi bezel.

Indeed I meant the original not WG model - ideally a mint one in the 3k to 5k price range

I think you'll be a lot closer to 5k than 3k!! mines a daily wearer (gmt master 2)in a fairly hardcore environment( extreme cold, bashing around machines etc.) and the watch is fine. very sturdy, doesn't mark up.......and looks the dog's bks wether i'm caked in crap at work or with a suit. I wouldn't be without mine

I don't think there is much demand for WG in UK - there is one in ad window plus discounted one on WF

I've got a couple of GMT Pepsis.

I'd buy the latest one I could find, but based upon condition too.

Prices start below £4k for a private so-so one, you can pay upwards of £6k for a pristine example at a dealer.

Personally I'd look for, in no particular order, but all are important:

1. Good title - i.e. it's not stolen.
2. Sharpness of the case - hasn't been polished heavily.
3. The bracelet isn't worn.
4. It's not engraved.
5. It doesn't need a service imminently
6. It has its box and papers.
7. Good general condition.

Here is a link to a history of the model:

Yeah I was offered 10% discount without even asking despite telling me it would be gone by tomorrow. Where as a stainless steel ceramic pepsi would be a waiting list and sell out for sure. With me at the front! smile

Please excuse my Rolex free knowledge here!

1. How much (ball park is a service) for a Master II?
2. Can the red/blue bezel be swapped for other colours by the owner i.e. is completed easily?

Thanks

I am surprised that it has not been said yet, but you need to speak to Dom at Hackett Watches. I purchased a 2004 GMT II Pepsi from him last year. The condition is outstanding. Came with inner/ outer boxes, all the documentation and the original purchase receipt. It also came with a black bezel insert, although not sure I have enough courage to try and replace it myself and I prefer the red/ blue at the moment. Coincidentally, the date that the watch was purchased in 2004 is actually my daughters birthday (I did not know this until the watch arrived).

If he hasn't got one (and there isn't one on his website) drop me an email.

I like the GMT Pepsi a nice looking watch last time I looked a used one was about £3.5k although they seem to have increased in price. You can buy one from the states for about that and wear it through customs to save the duty I would pay that for the right watch.

Don't say that, there'll be loads of posts pointing out the perils of tax-dodging!

Wow indeed. I might give them a bell about selling one of mine. If they can achieve that retail, what would they buy in for? I have one like that unused since a 2014 service, still stickered. Their sort of thing I would imagine.

A couple of days ago Iconic watches had a 3186 "stick dial" for sale at £7,250, it's gone now!

I know it's an oddball but £7,250?
