The fiscal year is rapidly approaching for the company I work for and having done (very) well with regards to targets etc I am inline for a rather healthy bonus.

I want to get myself a nice watch and have drilled down to 4 main options...

Tudor Grantour date....

Tudor Pelagos....

Omega 300 Co-Axial.... (would need some budget creep I think?!?!)

Breitling Superocean Heritage....

I appreciate they all look quite similar and I will be calling into the jewellers in the next coming weeks to see what I think of them on the wrist, but would appreciate some input/ thoughts from your good selves.

Just as an FYI budget is around 2-3k

I like the Omega although the Grantour is a nice little thing I've never noticed before.

I had never noticed the Grantour either until a few weeks ago when looking through the Tudor website, and I have to admit, I do keep going back to look at it.

Of the 4, the Omega is my favourite, but I have not seen one in the flesh yet and I am worried the faux vintage would put me off...

I've only seen the Pelagos and the Breitling in the flesh. I really like the Breitling. I think mesh straps look great. The only thing that would put me off is it's bloody great big watch. But then that's just for me. If you're build suits it then go for it.

Have you considered a Longines Diver? I love the vintage look on these and you'd still have some change left over compared to these others.

If the Omega is the one I think it is I think it works quite well in the flesh but I could be mistaking models.

That would be my choice too. These and the Black Bay are top of my list at the moment.

I am quite fond of the BB and may well appear in a "what next" thread later on in the year, but not this time round i think.

Technically the Omega has the better movement (co-axial, 60h power reserve, higher magnetic resistance) and, for me, is the best looking out of the 4 closely followed by the Pelagos. The Grantour's bezel puts me off that one, too Space 1999 for my liking, and the Breitling is a bit meh, all highly subjective though smile

Get out there and try them on, there's no substitute.

All the better for showing off that movement...

Not that you can see the movement in the others but I'd hazard a guess that the Omega's would be the most highly decorated.

Pelagos for me. The only Omega I like is the one I have, a Speedmaster Pro. The display back is an attractive feature but I rarely look at mine.

It depends ... If this is your first luxury watch, then I'd opt for the Omega every time. It's also equipped with some fairly decent features, including the co-axial movement! However if you already have a couple of watches, then I'd be spending my money on the Pelagos. I love it - Snowflake hands and constructed from titanium smile

As others have said, definitely try them on first!

Love my Pelagos

The SM300 re-make has very long lugs needing a very wide wrist for it to look OK and be comfortable.

Had the same problem recently.... Sat down with both the pelagos and omega together... Preferred the pelagos! Such a comfortable watch to wear and I personally can't do without a date! (my pelagos is actually up for sale as I got a deal I couldn't turn down on what has become a grail for me.. SD4000 - have a look at one also if budget allows and rolex are your thing!)

I've never really entertained the idea of rolex, due to me thinking (rightly or wrongly) they would always be out of budget... Maybe I need to look harder, who knows?!

I am going to go to the local jewelers next weekend and see how the watches sing smile

I'd personally have the Pelagos. I chose a Rolex Submariner and I still think I should have had the Tudor (not only because it's cheaper).
