Can highly recommend Iconic.I bought from them this week & whole process was first class & totally professional & friendly from start to finish. I am fortunate to live only 30 mins drive away, so was able to visit to view/complete the deal.

Just searched for them and spent a good half hour reading feedback on them. Now bought my first ever watch, a black faced Explorer II at considerable discount!!

is that http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk ?

how amenable were they to further reductions? Can't say I've been hugely blown away by 12% off here and there. To be honest you could fly to jersey or guernsey and buy there with 20% off (no vat) fly out in the morning and back by evening and save a chunk. Probably not worth it on a 3k watch but once you're on the bigger ones... Now, if could have them send a watch to the channel islands, and save 12% followed by another 20%, then you're talking...

It's not 20% off when subtracting UK VAT, it's around 16.67% ((1/1.2) x RRP) and then usually fees for the Tax Free agent, so around 15%.

Spoke to them yesterday, really nice, knowledgable chap. Unfortunately because of the way they're buying rolex there's no way to get the vat back, though they can with other brands. As a general warning to everyone, I'd be buying sooner rather then later, Italy where most of these guys are buying has increased prices by 10% and cut dealer margins, so lots of jewellers are hanging onto in demand stock for the new price lists.

True, though I was hoping they could bill it ex-vat so no tax free agent fees, 16.6% off their already 12-15% prices would have pretty decent!

Better a trip to Norway. 12.5% off then deduct the 25% sales tax which gives a grand total of 30% discount on rrp. 20% off on Omega/Breitling/Tag.Zenith/IWC followed by loss of 25% sales tax = total 36% discount on RRP.

Got my watch from iconic today and right enough, it was bought in Italy.

I'm dead pleased with it and the saving over RRP

What a fortuitous thread. I'm after a blue face Milgauss. Just over £5K with a token discount in UK. Seemingly available at around 5K Euro too. Was thinking about a cheap day trip to Netherlands from Southampton, but may look at Italy now...

Does anyone else have any suggestions of best value place to buy in Europe ?

Bought a Datejust II (116333) from watches of Switzerland in London on Monday evening. RRP was £7750 and they gave me a 5% discount. so paid £7362 in the end. Was happy with that, as other AD's had all told me no discount at all available!

Just seen that Iconic watches website however.. What's the deal with that? Not sure I'd want to order a watch over the internet like that? Quite a bit cheaper on there however....

Iconic are spot on to deal with, as I mentioned earlier in this thread. I visited their premises twice last week - first to view some watches, & secondly a couple of days later to collect my Daytona (re-sized whilst I waited).

As mentioned above, I'd be taking that back for a refund and buying from Iconic...

Whilst I haven't bought from them (yet) I gave them a call the other day, and was impressed with the operation, very transparent, happy to tell me where they were buying watches, even how much they paid for the model they had in stock that I was interested in etc etc. Its about £1100 cheaper there afterall isn't it?

Iconic are great. Got my Longines through them. Wish i was aware of them when I bought my omega. Would have got another 13% off.

Sister in law got her omega from them as well. Like others she visited them to collect. Great service. I'll be using them again.

Been stalking this thread for interest as I too have been looking for a first Rolex.

Just took the plunge and found exactly what I wanted from Watchfinder. Me being very wary as well as trying to get a good deal I looked at Europe and the States. Couldn't find anything that made the particular watch I wanted cheaper.

I sent 3-4 emails to various sellers on Chrono24 with absolutely no response.

Every time I googled the watch the same places came up including iconic and watchfinder. Sorry I didn't call iconic but they did show one for sale with a markup on the original retail price 1 year old, watch finder had one unworn dated Dec 14 at retail. Made a call and felt they were very helpful and set me up with an account to make the purchase. Bought the watch yesterday didn't get any discount but got it on my credit card so get another bit of insurance plus 6 weeks to pay it off, even asked if I paid by debit card for 2% off and it made no difference.
Anyway it turned up as promised this morning (Saturday) with all the seals intact and looks absolutely fabulous. I am really really pleased with it.

Pic....

Im picking up soon, but still undecided on the champagne face or sunburst? They assure me sunburst is new and trying to push that on me but I just can't make my mind up. Any thoughts on sunburst? (has stripes whole way round)
Picked this up for the missess couple weeks ago, sunburst dial is amazing, lots of comments...
