Can't you swim? wink

Seriously though, that's a stunning and extremely tasteful collection there.

Ah sorry, that passed me by. redface I didn't make the connection - I used to do triathlons, so can swim reasonably well wink but have never dived so I don't own a diver's watch.

Most divers watches are obsolete anyway, any sensible diver would use a dive computer, and the argument for a £5000+ watch as a backup is stupid as you'd just buy another £2-500 dive computer for the other wrist wink

I like divers like my Submariner because they arn't too flashy, mine barely gets noticed, but they are tough enough for everyday wear and if you do decide to jump in water or do anything the watch will get soaked then you won't break it.

I guess that's a bit like I used to wear a £35 Timex Ironman which had all the lap/timing functions I needed and which one could often get free from Runner's World Magazine! biglaugh

One of these? https://www.firstclasswatches.co.uk/timex-ironman-...

I can't remember quite how many of those I've lost kayaking or open water swimming, but fortunately at £20 off eBay or free from magazines it's no bother. smile

Indeed. It was the early hours of the morning and I was knackered, which for me is conducive to a somewhat silly sence of humour smile

A quick and dirty pic as I have been changing a few straps. From top left:

Oris Miles Tonneau – currently used as a dress watch
Breitling ChronoMatic – 1969 model fitted with a Calibre 11 movement (small by today's standards at 38mm)
Rolex GMT Master
Omega Seamaster Pro
IWC Spitfire Chronograph
Tudor Pelagos
Fortis B-42 Pilot Professional Chronograph
Glycine Lagunare 300 COSC-certified limited edition (one of 300 worldwide; only 4 of them in the UK)

From bottom left:
Casio G-Shock
1930’s (ish) cushion shaped Swiss watch. Manual wind with a brass case electroplated in gold (tiny at 32mm)
1960’s Salvest (a long-forgotten German brand) manual wind in steel (34mm)
1960’s gold manual wind Solo (Swiss but never heard of the brand) with applied dial indices (34mm)
Seiko 5 Fifty Five Fathoms mod on a sailcloth strap.

I have a few other random older pieces too. I have my eye on a vintage Omega as a dress watch but really ought to dispose of a few first…

1 - Girard Perreguax Laureato Evo 3
2 - Breitling Superocean 44 Heritage Blue on mesh
3 - ORIS TT1 Titanium full lume
4 - Anonimo Opera Mecchana Day Date
5 - Ball Master Engineer Diver (orange)
6 - Minorva Tourbillon Regulator (yes a real tourbillon)
7 - Glycine Incursore PVD California dial
8 - Boschett Cave Dweller (no 42 of 50 limited Edition).
9 - Pan Homage one off design (ETA, Sapphire, bespoke Dial/lume)
10 - Pan Homage
11 - Parnis (portugese) Power Reserve Blue
12 - Tao International - Retrograde
13 - Tao International - Big Date
14 - Waltham Pocket Watch

I want to downsize to about 5, but can't bring myself to get rid cos each watch brings something unique to the collection e.g. 1000m diver, PVD, Tourbillon, chrono, big date, power reserve, retrograde, tritium tubes, limited edition etc.

I'd be ok with getting rid of the 10 onwards but they are all worthless to fund another purchase so may as well keep them

My collection is now unfortunately on hold (for a good reason though) so it will take a while to add to it.
This is as it sits currently:

Top - L-R
Swatch Heracles
Rotary automatic
Hamilton Jazzmaster Chrono

Glycine Ningaloo Reef Complique (18th birthday present and was 1 of only 4 in the country at the time)

Bottom L-R
Rotary Editions 1895
Tag (stolen since this picture was taken)
K (Kays) of Worcester watch
Oris Big Crown Pointer (Rose Gold)

Currently being worn is a Frederique Constant slim-line watch:

I do have a few other quartz & mechanical watches but they are not stored at my house at the moment. Hopefully that will be remedied the next time I visit my parents!

I really want to add a Zenith El Primero & Omega Co-Axial De-ville Chrono to this collection but I think that won't be for quite a few years!

Currently and in no particular order:
1965 Seiko gold feather, was the world's thinnest centre second watch.
1968 Hamilton Darwin in white rgp - This is probably my rarest watch.
1937 Bulova President, subseconds, yellow rgp tank.
1972 Omega Geneve thick crystal, mirror dial, yellow rgp.
1911 7 Jewel "Spikins from Dent" pocket watch with a graduated silver Albert chain.
1965 Rado Diastar chronometer, silver tungsten with faceted crystal and original Rado branded NSA strap.
1969 Omega Dynamic, Date, 1st generation with original blue-silver-blue bullseye dial and bracelet.
1940s Laco brushed tank case.
1950s Lanco brushed round case, sub seconds.
2004 Cartier Roadster Arabic dial.
1990s Tissot T660 titanium (quartz).
1990s Acurist quartz thing (was my 21st birthday present)
Early 1970's Pierre Cardin CraterDome from the Espace series.
2013 Parnis, because beater.
2000s Tissot T670 Titanium chrono (quartz).
1978 Timex. Because it was the first watch I ever owned.
A Favre Leuba of Indian origin (knackered).
Something quartz and plastic that lives attached to my kayaking bouyancy aid.
There must be more, but that's all I can remember for now.

I currently need some JLC... A Reverso Duo, an old memovox, and a plain 60s/70s manual wind watch, I know the model by sight, but don't know the model name.

Hmmn, Could also use a pay rise to feed the habit.

A load of old Russians/Soviets:

raketa perpetual day date calendar 1980-2000
pobeda star

ancient thing pobeda movement, re-faced with a compass face

Aiming to add something nice in March, and maybe an interesting vintage

Audemars & Patek. Keep convincing myself that is it but possibly looking towards a Breguet.
