There have been some lovely watches posted in this thread and that sub cloud9.

Regarding the strap cost I have now checked with another AD and Tudor themselves and it does appear the dealer tried to have my trousers down.

Quote direct from Tudor/Rolex

Strap 113.51
Clasp 151.35

Both plus the VAT of course.

They did not seem too impressed that I was overcharged and I am currently awaiting a call back. Thank you to the people who brought this to my attention.

OP the AD in York is not the greatest in my experience.

If you have the time, you'd be be better off going into Leeds.

That's a shame, but not the end of the world. I am only window shopping at the moment. There is an AD in my local city who I have used before for other reasons and they are very good. We are also only an hour from London by train, which is always useful.

No problem at all. Hope you have a great time in my City! (p.s. If you're eating out you'd best to think about booking, its the last weekend of the Viking festival!)

The black bay on a bracelet comes with an additional strap ( fabric) or you can on leather with the fabric strap.

Mine is on a bracelet but I also ordered the leather - bloody expensive as you have to get the deployment with it (over 600 quid!)
Sorry? Run that by me again? £600 for a leather strap and deployment on a watch that costs 2k? Wow. They've gotta lot of chin, I'll give them that.
What?! How much for a strap!

Ideal world, all three straps, never had leather before, but I'll be swimming more again soon and watches never generally leave my wrist so not a good option

Not true and if that's what you paid then what a rip-off. A brand new distressed strap from Tudor is £140ish - my AD supplied me one that I am selling unused and unworn with my BB.
That's good to hear, mmm so which one to get.. Tempted to go bracelet version and gt optional leather. So they do the leather in choc brown?

I'd get the blue heritage bay watch

I think the trouble with Tudor is Rolex....

If you owned one you would be constantly explaining to people what it is and how it is the poor relation of the Rolex family...

Once you have owned a Lexus do you really then want a Toyota? Two brands owned by same company - unfortunately the cheaper version tends to be the runt of the litter.

They do look "OK" - don't blow me away tho.

Cool, just hope they sit well on my tiny wrists.

Got a Seiko Kinetic Titanium at mo, which I have had for 17 years. Always been reliable and right size.

Trying on a ranger and black bay next week. If all good hope to haggle.
They've also confirmed straps are available and not stupid pricing

I was in Watches of Switzerland yesterday and they wouldn't flex at all on price on a Pelagos so I didn't get it. I did like the watch though, so may pick one up online. The strap was surprisingly light and overall the watch felt considerably less bulky than my Seamaster Chrono.

Had a look at the Pelagos, and Heritage Black Bay and Monacos today.

I was seriously impressed - really nice watches and a Pelagos has gone right to the top of my 'want' list.

I'll have a look, but fear it'll be too big. I do love titanium though

I tried on the Pelagos yesterday, superb watch and wears smaller than you would think. Also, heavier than most Ti watches... which IMHO is a good thing.
