obviously no hassles from the Italian postal service for you folks on here so far, but I've heard many have issues.... did you use specific carriers?

Just had a weekend in Italy and managed to exercise the credit cards somewhat. The exchange rate makes quite a difference to the prices and watch dealers in Italy are quite happy to discount too. I bought three watches and all are at prices well below what second hand ones sell for in the UK .

The seller arranged insured next day delivery with DHL. It doesn't go anywhere nr the Italian postal service!

Just back from a 10 day trip to Austria ... Huber jewellery in Lech (who are a Liechtenstein based co ... pretty sure you'd save a few more euros!) have a decent collection in the shop window if anyone is travelling over there. Deepsea, SD4000, SS Sub date, Black/Blue GMT, White gold Daytona and the White Gold GMT. Had a look at the white gold GMT in Zurich Airport on the way home .... worked out about £25k!

Show Commerce have always been way cheaper, even without the Euro dropping. Very quick to respond to emails as well. Have had 1 watch from them a couple years ago, still works out cheaper than UK retail, and the model I bought is even cheaper now!

Bought a watch last week from Blome Uhren in Germany. Really good service, and no fee for paying on credit card, which saves a nice amount, and got a small discount on the watch. They don't charge for delivery either. Which last time I enquired from a dealer in Europe was about an extra 50 Euros.

Website is all German, but fairly easy to navigate with Google Translate. They're Authorised Dealers for a lot of brands, so definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something new. I emailed a guy called Daniel. really good English, and if they do a discount, they give you a voucher code to enter at the checkout on the site, so all payments done online.

Really nice service overall. They let me chage one of the straps for a different one that wasn't standard for the watch and it all came gift wrapped and with a free polishing cloth and watch pouch, even had a roll of tape and the return stickers for postage in case I wanted to send it back! Never had the tape included in any purchase in this country.

I was in Schiphol last week and the Longines Conquests on sale were working out at just over £300. Thought of buying a couple to sell on the bay.
If anybody happens to be going through there any time soon and can pick me one up at that sort of price price I will make sure that you get a drink or two out of it yes

Was that via Chrono24's 'Trusted Checkout' or direct with the dealer adding 2%?

Reason for asking is that the 5 dealers I've approached have all requested bank transfer!
No I just went direct to the dealer after seeing the watch on Chrono24 who added their card processing fee. I don't think 2% is an unreasonable fee to give you the security.

I thought I would resurrect this thread. Has anyone picked up any recent bargains that from Europe that you'd like to share?
I'm toying with the idea of picking up a Rolex, but I always have the need to get a bargain.
