Covent Garden has to be the obvious answer, as for shop recommendations I can't help there.

I can recommend Cool Diamonds in Hatton Gardens if you're after Diamonds or wedding bands...

Hatton Garden has possibly the highest concentration of jewellers in a small area. Lots of it is a bit rundown-looking but there are deals to be had.

If you're heading for Hatton Garden, PM DomH on here first, he specialises in watches but sells jewellery as well.

If you are a money-no-object PH Director, head for Mayfair and PM me first, I can put you in touch with an award-winning jeweller who owns a "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford if" jewellery business with a shop near Berkeley Square.

Much obliged all. Can anyone pass me Dom's details as the PM system is notorious for not working when I try and use it?

Edit - just tried but says "the recipient doesn't permit emails"?

I can recommend 'Finecraft' of Greville St, just off Hatton Gdn. bought my wife a lovely diamond pendant and chain for Xmas. They also supplied the engagement ring 15 years ago.

If you're feeling flush there's also New Bond Street.
