Dive Watch recommendations
Discussion
I recently sold my Rolex Sub to fund a dress watch, but miss the versatility and robustness of it.
I am looking to buy something that will be rubust(ish) with a similar design on a bracelet. I want something that I don't mind if it gets scratched, will be waterproof and have a limited budget (possibly up to £300).
I have seen the Steinharts and quite like these, but am not necessarily looking for a sub-alike:

I would prefer an automatic movement. Does anyone have any recommendations in this price bracket?

Seiko Monster comes to mind. I'm wearing mine as i type and it's an excellent piece of kit. Creation Watches is a good place to look through the huge range. Whilst this isn't mine, i still quite fancy it:

If you don't mind quartz then Christopher Ward would be worth a look. Something like this perhaps:

Standard watch forum type answers:
Orient Mako
Seiko 007
Citizen NY2300
For ages I have thought about getting the Citizen with the pepsi bezel and putting it on an aftermarket sharkmesh bracelet like this one:
(googled image) Unfortunately, at only 38mm it's quite a small watch these days.
The last dive watch I bought was Tauchmeister T0252 which I have been pleased with, however the construction is not up to the standard of Seiko/Citizen/Orient.

I think there's a factory churning these out, you just stick your own brand on it. It's a case of finding the least expensive branding.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006H4CHWW/ref=...
The Apex version is a 'proper' diving name :

Just to bring this thread to a close, Thank you everyone for all the recommendations.
After a couple of months of looking and a little budget creep I finally picked this Longines HydroConquest last weekend at the airport.
I'm really please with the look, feel and size of it.
That's got to be a 100% creep at least After a couple of months of looking and a little budget creep I finally picked this Longines HydroConquest last weekend at the airport.

Good choice though!
