A lot of respect for Oris. The quality of the face and case are very good for the price point yet they use the same movements as much more expensive swiss brands.

Its a mistake to regard Oris as cheap in any way. They were always competitive, but theyre now far less expensive due to their not jumping on the 'luxury watches*' price rise gravy-train.

  • Id like to meet the American who coined this phrase

However, I suspect second hand prices go like for like. Must check again properly, but mine wasn't worth servicing & repairing last time I checked (aside from being a good might get somewhat inebriated night out thing to wear).

Slight shame as aside from breaking & the slightly odd face smaller than face look, I liked it.

Had a Full Steel as a daily for the last 14 years. Good value, well made watch. Competitive repair from the approved service centre as well :

Got 3 of them, Aquis Date Small Second, Big Crown Pointer Day and Big Crown Small Second Pointer Day or the Cool Grey. I also had an Classic XXL Worldtimer but sold that last year. All very good watches.

Would not mind having the Big Crown Timer Chronograph, Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph GMT or the new Divers Sixty Five. But SWMBO would kill me.
