Looking at getting my first 'nice' watch. Not really bother about if it's new or second hand, I have around £1000ish to spend, so surely am best going second hand to get the most for my money.?

Is there any recommend site to get some second hand bargains? And is it best staying away from the likes of eBay etc? Also would like to know what I can get for my £1000 secondhand if I look hard enough.

Cheers for any help.

Nothing intrinsically wrong with eBay, but certain brands would be best avoided until you're much more clued up on them - otherwise it's as good as any of the various sales channels.
Chrono24 is worth a look at, and we're here to ask opinion/advice on ones which grab your eye.
Just don't rush into things, as the longer you take, the more likely you are of getting the right watch. One thing you'll notice is that you'll flit between styles, and one model you liked initially will no longer be as desirable.

You'd also do well to look over some recent-ish threads, for ideas/links, to save rehashing what's been done before.

This. Spend many days looking at Chrono24, look at all the styles, sizes and material on offer, then look on forums for discussion on that brand

But, and this is the important bit, only buy a watch YOU like, not a watch that others TELL YOU you should like. You are the only one who has to look at it everyday.

Oh, and add some more money, as this will inevitably lead to cost creep.

A very nice 'Bond' Omega Seamaster Pro 300M, blue wave dial. Ebay used. Always check feedback first though. Better off from a private seller than one of these so called dealers who charge well over the odds whom state that they have conducted a thorough check and clean up of the movement, waterproofness, etc as its all a load of bks.

That is just one particular dealer...and yes, they are bks
