Im the biggest idiot of them all then as my Tag was nearly £10k... (Ok I did get a large discount lol)

edited to add that I thought the omega and rolex looked average and I didn't find a brietling that I liked as much.... i won't ever be selling mine so not that concerned about value now and I don't consider it an investment... 2 years later I still love it and wear it often.

Got one of these on the waycool
That is a seriously nice watch in my opinion.

It's the sort of design that looked great 30 years ago, looks great today and will still look great in another 30 years time.
I have exactly that one too.

Ignore what everyone says and buy what YOU like.

It's your watch and it sits on your wrist. Everyone has different taste and if others feel it's crap, good for them. So long as you enjoy what you have.

And to add, this model is COSC certified and works beautifully. I'm currently looking at a Zenith so in time I'll have something new to add.

That's rather pretty. I've got this on my list:

I plan to get it before my 35th. A snip at £5750! hehe

We bought my stepson this for his 30th birthday:

It uses the El Primero movement and is one of the few TAGs I'd consider for myself.

You don't need to spend that kind of money if you're prepared to shop around...smile

I'm wearing mine as we speak,

I think there is some validity in people questioning the integrity of Tag using quartz movements in some watches. But, that can equally be aimed at the other manufacturers and that doesn't even start to cover the 007 BS. Anyone dismissing my watch as not being a quality time piece is doing so not because of technical excellence. The movement is worshiped in the Zenith. So, to dismiss my watch is purely based on brand perception which is a statement of fashion being made by the ill informed. Quite ironic if you think about it.

That's a cracking price! It's a stunning timepiece. I love the visible mechanism and the movement. Beautiful.

Put the clock back on the wall. Or get a bigger wrist. Nice clock though.

I will admit that I was hesitant to post that picture because the proportions look odd. In reality, it doesn't look silly and my wrists are far from petite as shown.

There are exceptions, the Tags using the Zenith movement being the most notable. Once again, it's not that Tags are bad, they're not. They just don't compare well with their competitors on a price for price basis, the Tags don't seem to be finished as well, but I fully accept that it's a subjective assessment, all be it a fairly widely held subjective assessment.

If you're aware of what else you could have bought and the differences and you still chose, still prefer and still enjoy the Tag, then your choice is no less valid than any other.

Yeah, I think the 007 link in is cringe worthy. Why the hell would anyone want that? Unless of course they are 12.

Isn't that the average mental age of most PH'ers?

I have taken your criticism to heart and traded in my "clock"

Some folk can only post negative stuff (makes em feel better apparently)...

The C36 looks just fine, watches have got bigger, but even at 43mm like yours, a watch without a bezel that has the dial going to the edge, especially in white, will always look large..... the watch looks great..enjoythumbup

Ah the good old TAG Formula 1... I bought one of those in 1989 as my first 'posh' watch. Got it new from a jeweller in Wakefield for the princely sum of £72.
Sadly it went missing in the last house move 3 years ago.

Some folk cannot see a good natured ribbing and see it as an insult, in this instance hurt feelings by proxy even.

Yeah, interwebs do make this type of communication near impossible to see admittedly, but as a fellow non hulk hogan wrist type human I felt a need to post the clock/wrist comment. No overly crushing insult was intended, I don't think the recipient received it as such.
