Hi,

I was hoping somebody could help me a little about this watch, I have my 30th coming up and fancy a Rolex from my birth year. I was lucky enough to of found one that I really like, a GMT Master II that is affectionately known as the "Fat Lady". The more I have read up on this watch the more I want it and it's pretty much a done deal. But one of the things I noticed was how much of a short production run it had. I'm just curious to know if anyone here would be knowledgeable enough to have a rough idea of how many would of been produced? Any idea on if it could end up appreciating a little? Any info on this watch would be greatly appreciated, I'm all out of reading material after exhausting Google! smile

Cheers beer

Here's everything you wanted to know about 'Fat lady's'.

This reference suggests that the watch was produced for 5 years. Rolex do not release production figures, so there's no way of accurately reporting.

Hope this helps.

And it is a 1986! That does look great...unfortunately I have already pulled the trigger on another. No papers but a price that reflects that and it's a keeper anyway. Thanks for the heads up though thumbup
