I am looking for a robust watch for my 10 year old - is a g shock a good choice and will it fit? Any recommendations?

Loads to choose from and many different colours away from matte black. This one looks pretty good BGD140-1ACR, or this one....AW-591MS-1AER. Just look out for the over sized ones what can be vast, even on an adult.

I think a G-Shock is fine for a 10 year old both my Sons had them at that age and younger.

The biggest challenge is finding something comfortable and not massive for their wrist.

The 5600 and 6900 varients were fine, my sons had Baby G watches when they were young, they are worth a look and G shock do a reduced size as well which is between G-Shock size that is worth a look.

Have a look on the UK Casio website

Thanks all. The Baby G won't cut it. I am sure as a ten year old boy he will not have a watch that says baby on it... I saw a 7700 online that seems to fit the bill and hopefully will fit my son.

I got my son this one http://www.casioonline.co.uk/G-100-2BVMUR#.VY33BnC... for his 9th birthday. I found all the other ones too big for his wrist.

Bought this one for my lad when he was ten (about a year ago).
Gadgety enough and fits well on a small wrist.
He wears it all day every day and hasn't had any problems so far.

I bought the 7700, which looks pretty similar to the 7710 and is slightly smaller than the G-100. I have to say I am very impressed, so much so I may get one myself - if it looks good on my skinny wrist it will look good on his normal 10 year old wrist.

I bought my son a Casio G-Shock G-100-1BVMUR for his 10th birthday, the strap on these will fit a very small wrist. After nearly 2 years it's as good as new and he still loves it!
