Seiko skx 007 problem

If you have given up on Creation (I'd keep digging if I was you, particularly if they're aware of this thread) you don't have to give up on the watch itself. I have an SKXxxx with Joe (Variomatic) on here, he's just completed some work for me for a lot less than the cost of a new watch. Get in contact with him before writing the watch off completely, I couldn't be sure of the exact nature of the failure or how much it would cost to put right however it would be worth getting a quote even if you have to cover the cost of postage.

Further update:
The GF got peed off with waiting and sent them a bking email. (I told her just to forget it and chalk it up to a company of chancers).
A week later, this reply.
"Your watch has been sent to the service centre. The repair can take some time due to the backlog at the service centre and the delay in the manufacturer sending parts if needed. The service centre is at the mercy of the manufacturer for parts, and manufacturers can take months at times to send the parts due to production cycles. It will take anywhere between 6-12 weeks. We will try to expedite it and get back to you as soon as it is read."
So. Around 6 months in total to get a mass-produced, everyday watch provided which actually works.
Creation, hang your heads. That's pretty damn awful, IMO.

That is an awesome offer. Thank you ever so much - but I will, with the utmost gratitude and respect - decline it this time around. I've spoken to the GF and decided that they have 9 weeks and if nothing is heard or rec'd, then she will initiate charge back from the Visa company. If I/you/we start getting involved with sending them parts then they will have a robust defence against me/chargeback, I would imagine.
But still, thank you. That's really bloody decent of you to offer and I'm very grateful indeed. I'll send any future servicing your way!

You're welcome, but probably right if you may be going for a refund / chargeback.
The offer was part of my dedication to Random Acts of Kindness. Every so often I try to do something random to help someone out just cos I can, in the hope it'll put them in a good mood that day and they'll do the same. It's also a used me to have a look at your website as I have a Seiko diver kinetic thing that is starting to feel like it might be due a new battery to hold its charge a bit better so will certainly send it your way.
Out of interest, would you happen to know what could be done about a slightly loose bezel action on a dive watch? I don't especially use it for timing dives but would be good to have as a back up and at present, it's too easy to judge it on a couple of clicks with a sleeve. There doesn't seem to be enough resistance somehow...easy fix?

They're charging me for the repair though, which is pretty disappointing. But, 21quid inc delivery to get it back, I just want it in my hand really. Even if it doesn't work - it'll definitely be coming to you Variomatic.

I'm a bit of a lurker round these parts but hopefully you maybe can get somewhere with them after pointing out their own comments to them as mentioned below.
A few months back I bought a Seiko SNZG13 from them that turned up with moisture inside the face...
I emailed them about it and they said...
"Sorry for the inconvenience the moisture is a common issue that
affects most of these watches. It is due to the oils of the watch
evaporating and condensing. You can easily get it cleaned at any watch
shop.
If you are not happy with the purchase and still want to return the
watch then please inform us."
That didn't sound right to me along with the fact the moisture was only in the face and not the display back where I'd expect any moisture from the movement to form if that was really the cause. Anyways I went to a local watch repair shop who agreed it wasn't right or acceptable on a new watch so I got back on to Creation and confirmed I'd like to send it back for replacement and was instructed to complete the RMA form and send it back to them.
I did mention in my emails to them a couple of times of my disappointment of having to pay to return a brand new watch that arrived faulty and that I thought I should be refunded for my postage costs, but they skipped around that bit in their replies to me. However I then spotted on my browsing around their response to some criticism on the Watchuseek forum that included this...

"when you shop with us one thing we can assure you that you will will receive exactly what you ordered. Rarely there might be issues with the watch unpon receipt (like the case of the crown coming out). In such cases we offer a full refund to the customer + cost of return shipping by registered mail. Once we receive the watch back we will either issue a full refund or send a replacement to the customer depending on what he chooses. We also give customer option for a partial refund if the issue is minor and the customer can live with it."
So I mailed them again quoting that, hard for them to argue with that I'd say. Had a reply back the next day saying they will refund me the postage, which they did. Disappointing that I had to chase them up about it and they'd probably not be so forthcoming with it if I hadn't found that post with them saying all of that themselves.
My replacement eventually turned up and this one was ok and has been fine so far...
So I'd advise you to try mailing them again arguing that you disagree with their claims the watch was used and also pointing out their own returns/refund policy as mentioned above and that you'd like your costs refunded as the watch arrived faulty and wasn't caused by you.
