Funny you should ask this - I'm wearing mine as we speak!

Really like it, proper rugged, good looking and a bit crazy with the shark tooth hour indices, unidirectional bezel, day, date and screw down crown with hacking and hand wind. One of the best bangs for your buck you can get bounce

I have a TAG and an Omega but have worn an Orange Monster every day for the last 7 or 8 years.

In that time it has had two replacement rubber straps, but I cannot complain about it. I have given up buying genuine Seiko straps and now just get cheapo ones.

THe SRP monsters have hacking and handwinding movements.

I've got a first gen orange monster on a super engineer bracelet and I love it

It is the movement, they are still all good, they are all mechanical automatic movements.

Which means, rotor winding a mainspring, it is not a Quartz movement, so no battery.

Great watches, very good value for money.

The SRP Monsters are automatic and can be hand wound and hacked as well (hacking means that you can stop the second hand from running when setting the time), the previous generation Monsters and the "5" Monsters - normally referred to as "Mini" Monsters - are auto only and can't be hacked. The Minis are also 100mtr rated whereas the Monsters are 200mtr.

For £130 the black dialed version is an absolute steal.

I've a first gen orange monster. Great quality watch for not much money. Nicely made case and good quality strap. Fantastic value for money, great everyday mechanical watch. Much better to spend money on than some everyday quartz fashion watch.

Fit and comfort is a personal thing, though I have to say that mine fitted well and was no issue at all to wear. They're not small watches though they're also not as large as the "Monster" moniker may make out, they also have a reasonable weight to them with the bracelet though can be worn on rubber as well. I think I've read comments in the past as to them feeling a little top heavy on rubber, I personally never tried. The bracelet is a pin and collar type so it may be easier get get your local jeweler to take out links though there is a micro adjuster on the clasp which is easy to use for fine tuning the fit smile

The above is for the true Monsters, I've never owned a Mini so can't comment on those. It was a Monster that got me on to this whole watch malarkey, be careful evil

I have an OM, about 4 years old now, really like the orange but not keen on the 5s so much (which I never think of as monsters). Would love a snow monster too but silly money now.

What is the benefit of hacking?

Snow Monsters are crazy money, especially so seeing as it's only the dial that's unique. As for hacking, it enables you to sync the watch to any other watch or timekeeping device to the second. I sometimes sync my autos to one of my atomic G-Shocks, it's an easy way to check how accurate they are.

Here's my two, adore them! Think a new generation one is needed as I believe these are the early models. I find them extremely comfy on a rubber strap and they feel bombproof, plus the lume is fantastic!

I absolutely LOVE this bracelet. Do you have a sales link to that exact bracelet? Amazon per chance?

Also, is the bracelet fairly smooth inside around the clasp? The one thing I don't like about the monster strap is that the divers extension hinge is "raised" compared the the rest of the clasp and it digs into my wrist a bit.
