Or shall i just get a Rolex Sub (boring I know)
Also I am off to Italy in a couple of weeks; is it worth picking a watch up out there with the exchange rat the way it is?

I'm going to be in the minority, but I love the Chronomaster.http://www.zenith-watches.com/media/catalog/produc...

The Original is a bit ho-hum, the Chrononmaster's beating heart is a delight to the eye.
I'd buy either instead of a Sub any day, sorry...

I have two Zeniths at the moment. Stratos and Pilot.
Out of your two choices the Chrono does looks good. I have the same sub dial combination although you can`t see it when the light fades.
They do look good though. I ended up selling my Sub to buy the Zenith Pilot by the way. I was sick of being asked if it was `real` like a Rolex Submariner was the be all and end all of timepieces.

Hey what pilot do you have? How does it compare to the sub? I keep being drawn to the Extra Special Type 20, I have. 5513 but that is in my special box so looking for the pilot as a more daily thing.Out of your two choices the Chrono does looks good. It`s the ES type 20 I have. Instantly recognisable as a Zenith. Strap feels much better when broke in. It cannot be compared to the sub in any way asides roughly the same size as it isn`t really a tool watch. As a daily it would be great, but I wear mine in rotation. Very easy to read at night with brilliant lume, even a half awake glance in the dark and you know the time. On hindsight I should have bought the GMT 48mm version as I like the idea of the two time zones although you`d need a bigger wrist to pull off the 48mm.I have the Original 1969...
Honestly - I bought it as I think it is stunning. Like a mini Striking 10th.
It's a beautiful little watch but it is a bit small for me (all 6'3" and 17st) at 38mm.
So, mine has basically been in the box, unworn for 99% of it's life (18 months or so). If you're interested, it'll get shifted at some point as I seem to be 'off' watches and back to cars, these days!

When you are looking to move it on drop me a PM as I may be interested, depending on watch budget at the time Honestly - I bought it as I think it is stunning. Like a mini Striking 10th.

Apologies for derailing the thread or breaking any rules... Tried to PM you (and the OP before I saw your message) but didn't receive the 'copy' at my end, so I am thinking it may not have come through!?
