I have had my apple watch 2 weeks and in that time have not worn my Blancpain ,Rolex or Anonimo once .
The fitness ap is addictive and I like to hit the daily target .
The writing on the wall for the Swiss watch industry ?

Come back and tell us in 6 months.

Personally, I've no desire for one, so I probably not the nail in the coffin...

Possibly not. More accurate Quartz / digital watches couldn't kill off mechanical watches in the 70s and phones haven't killed them off since

Apple watches that you have to charge every day and have to be linked to an iPhone to do anything, won't do it either. hehe

As much as I love my iPad and iPhone I'd never consider an Apple watch. If I need to read texts or look at my fitness data, getting my phone out of my pocket isn't that big a chor for me. I wear various swiss watches becuase they look good (jewely for men if you like) something the Apple watch isn't good at.

I am bang in the middle of target market for an Apple watch.

I don't want one. I appreciate many do. But I don't.

I find the idea that I am the only person who thinks this to be very unlikely.

Ergo - the industry will be fine.

Don’t expect someone who’d buy a Rolex (or Audemars Piguet etc), to be dissuaded from that purchase just because the Apple Watch is now on the scene.

Same here, it's just the kind of thing I'd like normally.

I know loads of people who buy most Apple products and get the new iPhone/iPad the moment they come out but none of them have bought an apple watch.

In fact I've only met one person who even has one, you have to go to an Apple Store to check them out. I wonder if sales are below expected?

Just read this interesting artical on watchmaking. There's some comments on the Apple watch near the end of the piece which I can relate to.

It just hasn't taken off at all, I don't think the legacy watch makers have anything to worry about.

Why am I not surprised that someone called Prigg works for the Daily Mail?

So,OP.. Hardly anyone is buying them, is this the writing on the wall for the Apple Watch? wink

Never mind, it'll look great next to the Lisa and the Newton! biggrin

I lust after one of those round LG watches. Then I started thinking, "How daft would I look wearing two watches?" And realised the answer was, "Very." So I haven't bought one. Also, charge it everyday? You've got to be joking.

Id wear 2 but the second would have to replace my phone, have 30ft induction charging and look nice & high tech.

Yeah, the charging thing needs sorting out. I'd want to be able to not take it off and it would be able to charge whether that's by sitting at my desk for a couple of hours (not 8) or whatever.

Won't be long until this idea is more widespread IMO...

Getting them both on the same strap would be awesome too, but that apple watch would get scratched a tad...

26 calories too go fatties ....😉
The battery lasts all day ..
The charging is though a magnetic dongle thing ..
No proding or probing ...
You really have too try it ..
Also it's so light .you look to see its still there ..
And I think my cheapest large size looks cool ...
