Out of warranty, too. How much is this little fix (!) likely to cost me? Watch is otherwise functioning just fine - just snapped stem of the crown, so it has fallen out like a little screw in my hand.

Model as below:

Speak to Variomatic on here.
I'm sure he'll be able to sort you out.

Any chance of a photo of the crown showing how much (if any) of the stem is sticking out of it? It makes a big difference to the chance of just replacing the stem (quick, easy and cheap) or having to replace the crown as well (quick and easy IF available but not so cheap because of the branding)

Piece of cake, £25 inc post, should be same-day turnaround.

Or, given the time of year, if you prefer send it with a tenner to cover return P&P and make an appropriate donation in your nearest Poppy Appeal jar for the repair itself smile

Wonderful!

Tell you what, I will send £25 cheque for the repair/post + £10 cash so that you can give it to your local poppy collector, as I rarely see them where I live. Sound good?

What's the best way to send the watch to you?

Thanks again
Phil.

Update: What a star Joe (aka Variomatic) is - fixed and returned in day, for 1/8 of the cost that I was quoted by my local indie. God only know what Longines themselves would have quoted. Fantastic!

Happy to help, and thanks for helping stuff our poppy tin (had £101.55 in the last one and going all out to beat that this time smile )

As for the price difference, I try to charge by the job rather than the brand name wink

Urgh, this thread has popped back up in my inbox... I feel a little deflated again.

Alas, my lovely longines which I bought myself for my 30th birthday unfortunately became an unrecoverable victim of my failing marriage.

Seeing this thread pop up brings a pang on pain.
