It's all about personal taste and what's important to you. Who are we to tell a 20 year old how to spend their money.

When I was 20 years younger, I was obsessed with high end stuff, clothes, shoes, watches, private number plates and cars.

One divorce and a financial crash later, I now have two kids, one income and whilst I still have some of the trinkets from my previous life, I don't lust after them anymore. These days I drive more modest cars, wear regular clothes and life is a bit more simple, my focus is to stop working in the next 6-8 years and spend my days tinkering with old motorcycles! But I completely understand that drive for the finer things in life.

Indeed - that was my point, if it wasn't clear.

Tudor Pelagos. Just lovely.

Or maybe a Bremont.
Nice watches but heavy depreciation if bought brand new.

If you look at the OP's brief posting history you might reach the same conclusion I just have: he's a dreamer.

On a side note, I've seen a London dealer has a 2000 14060M (non COSC essay) Sub with box and papers for £3.3k, how does this sound price wise?

As an entry level for a couple of grand go grab a Rolex Submariner not the greatest watch but looks smart, well made and wears the crown logo

I tend to agree he as not been particularly active on this thread since his original post.

The days of a £2000 sub have long gone, any good boxed Rolex Submariner or GMT with history and papers will be double that.

He's after a new Porsche on the Porsche forum as well, too much student loan burning a hole in his pocket?

I paid 3550.00 for a Pre owned Submariner 14060 . A 1996 T series. Loved it . Very attractive and with the no date it was a clean unfussy dial .
However i sold it to buy a Turbocharged 205 Gti.
Mainly Sub's at 3.5k will not come with Box and Paper's though . So be careful and buy from a reputable dealer.

Regardless of the OP's questionable post history; I don't see the fixation that a lot of people seem to have with wanting to spend a set amount of money on a watch, almost as if it's spending the money for the sake of it instead of just finding a watch that they like regardless of price. Find a watch you like, buy it, if you can't afford it, then save up imo.

Iv seen a nice bretling. Any one recommend any watches?
A brietling that one you saw, that one... smile

You're the one who is going to be wearing it, looking at it and living with it so the primary thing is that you like it. If the brietling is out of your price range then send us a link and im sure someone will know of a similar looking watch that you might like.

Second the tudor,i just picked up a 2 month old one mint condition for £1800 very comfortable and comes with rubber strap as well as the metal.

Buy second hand with watches far more value for money and you wont lose money on them
