Even if it is fake it looks cool.
Really?

Stupidly big IMHO
With the sunlight on it etc I think it's quite stylish. I wouldn't buy it but it's not bad.

New beater arrived today. Very pleased with it. Came to the office in the fun car today too, so the picture is bang in line with the spirit of the cars & watches theme.

Nice watch, which model is it?

Thanks. It's the solar powered (maintenance free hopefully) SSC015P1.

Thanks guys - I take the comments well - its is a fake and the angle taken on a wide angle macro also made it look like a dinner plate...

I shall post some genuine ones shortly and let you all debate if they are fake or not, nowthat I have that rep...

My passion for watches means sometimes buying things cause I like em so much - having said that this is the only fake I have and did like it cause of its look...

Watch and Porsche steering badge! We have this years winner, only in February too.

You would have gained more points if it was a Rolex though.

Speaking of fakes, a long time ago, Mrs Digga picked up a really, really good, automatic movement fake of this Rolex in Dubai:

Back to the DJII today, still thinking about changing the dial for a rhodium with diamond markers... Hm.

Always thought these things were incredibly handsome pieces. Even the fake looks great, but the real thing is a beautiful design.

This one for today.

An old 'photo, really need to get a dust free shot at some point.
That looks very nice. What is it? a Stowa?
Yupsmile

Put my DA36 on a khaki NATO with black hardware. Suits the watch very well indeed, rubbish 'photo though!

Cheers, I really fancied one a few years ago when they had a LE FO manual wind. Unfortunately they where having supply of the movements and the waiting list was ridiculous. I'd really fallen for the Luftwaffe pilots style and after trying a couple of Chinese versions in the style for size I bought an IWC. Looks like Stowa have another similar model now, although I'm sure it was larger than 41" back then. I may have to scratch that itch, the face is so pure and timeless and the display back with the modified Unitas movement is gorgeous. for €1290 it looks a good buy.

Thanks. I think I might grab one while my submariner is in for a service.

Take this the right way but it looks like a pocket watch with strap.
Isn't that what made IWC famous?

The Laco ones look to be an absolute steal. £250 for an automatic (basic) going up in price for better movements.

Archimede are also worth a butcher's, priced between Laco and Stowa IIRC.

Yep looked at the Laco too but the cases appear to have a more satin finish and I prefer the look of the brushed finish of the Stowa and IWC. The display back also appealed on the Stowa as it's such a large movement and a piece of art in it's own right.

I looked at these too I just liked the idea of the manufacturers that were authentic in that they manufactured them during the war. I suppose I should take a snap of mine tomorrow to join the thread properly.

It isn't the same Stowa as years of yonder though I know what you mean, I'd rather have the name as well as long as the quality was still there. Jorg Schauer bought the right to use the Stowa name a good few years back and if the likes of Panerai can get away with it I'm sure that Stowa can as well biggrin

You probably already know this if you're familiar with the brand smile
