i've always thought that diving rolex look good on alternative straps. I really like the bracelet though!
I'm with you there. The point of a dive watch is that it's roughty toughty and doesn't mind getting wet. Putting a leather strap on a 'Dweller is like wearing espadrilles with a wetsuit.

How many owners buy one to go to 4000ft under the waves? 99.99999% buy because we like the look, not the practicality or suitability.

Don't really agree and changing a strap is so easy if you want to change the appearance of your watch.

Plus plus plenty of dive watches come on leather straps when sold.

Easier with drilled lugs like Eddie's than it is on later 'Dwellers.

But just because some people wear espadrilles with a wetsuit doesn't make it right. biggrin

^^very nice, tough one to follow!

If I could only have one watch it would be tough to choose between this and the Explorer, I don't wear this that often but always love it when I put it on smile

Yeah, there's an interesting thread on http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?216809-Lappi... about Lapping machines and laser welding. It's amazing what you can do - purists might shudder at destroying originality, but if a watch has obvious blemishes on it and you're refinishing it to be like new for your own enjoyment, then who cares?

Total cost of refurb of case and bracelet was £250.

Refurbing the case is generally accepted I'd say, the dial/hands can be picky points but the case should be fine - especially when done so well.

Love that. I really like the Breguet designs. A classic look.

Does it have a see-through back? If so, any chance of a picture of the movement?

Yes it does have a display back - here is a rough IPhone shot which shows the alarm mechanism.
