I'm after some advice from the ph watch collective, the other half is having a big birthday shortly and has suggested a nice watch as a possible present. My budgets 1k at the absolute max (also got a wedding to pay for this year). She quite likes the tag aqua racer design so anything similar would be considered.

Can anyone suggest some alternative brands for me to look at within this price range please? I'm familiar with omega, Rolex (well out of budget) and Tag but any further advice would be welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Oris, Longines, Rado all do watches in this range.
I'm a bit of a fan of Oris and Longines I must say.

Another one for Longines. They are doing some really classy stuff and you should be able to get a nice design at that price point.

Does she know about watches? I bought my missus a Gucci thing for about £650 and as far as she was concerned it was a 10k rolex! The money saved went towards a Panerai wink Also, it's now a mess as it's scratched to hell... I got the hint yest about a new one ...

Not really, she's got a rather sorry looking DKNY thing at the moment so another "designer" brand wasn't high on my list but that may hold some potential.

Thanks for all the ideas so far gents, I'll have a look into longines and sinns

Isn't it all about the brand with (most) womens choice of watch? Bvlgai and Cartier produce models around that price level.

Cartier's a good call. Huge brand value and excellent technical quality as well.
