Embarrassingly tasteless and tacky, IMO.

Traditionally it was one where the watch could be properly read without moving the hands from the wheel (similar to some aviation watches).

An example (and one I have myself):

The offset dial is intended to line up so with hands on the wheel (controls in an aircraft) the 12 is at the top of the watch as seen by the driver.

Other examples are:

I suppose any watch with an 'oil change indicator' would have to be a pretty cool drivers watch too....

Dreadful looking things IMO.

Like fake Tag Monacos with tackier branding and ripoff Porsche font on the website.

Thank you for your input and loving that Longines, although that's out of my reach. The Laguan Seca these guys are selling is £299, which is affordable. I don't know of any other watch makers selling at the price.

Unless I missed something, all that does is tell the time, my clock on my dash does that.

Yes the Longines is lovely but its very big at 50mm across!

Try looking at Page and Cooper (I quite like the Laco range but I'm a sucker for aviation watches).
https://www.pageandcooper.com/brands/
They have some nice watches around that mark.

Also Bulova can be had for that money.

ETA Ah - I see - you meant with the offset dial....

Not really sure what constitutes the price tag, the movement is £5, the strap about £10.

Is the case, dial and hands really worth £285?

Agreed. Apart from looking st, my biggest problem with those Olomogato watches is how much they cost for what they are.

It's a cheap watch with a cheap movement and hugely expensive for what it is.

I prefer the looks of the Autodromo watches as it happens, but their cost puts them in the same bracket for me. They aren't cheap enough to be nice, cheap watches and they aren't good enough to be as expensive as they are.

bloody love that watch and want one (have done since I tried one on back in 2013)......will consider it when they get under 15k but at the moment the new "west wing" of Gould towers is absorbing money at an alarming rate !!

Have to agree. The Laco watches at Page and Cooper look excellent value in comparison to the Omologato ones.
