Hi gents,
I've recently inherited one of my Grandad's old watches, an Omega Automatic - I think it's a Deville, but any help identifying it would be much appreciated. However the strap is getting tired and, rather than wear it down to nothing, I'd rather keep it in my watch box as it forms a part of the watch's history given that it was the last watch he ever wore.
I usually buy and wear watches with link chains, and the only watch I've ever bought a leather strap for before was a Golden Ellipse, so that was ordered directly from Patek Philippe.
The width of the strap where it meets the watch is 18mm, and I'm perfectly capable of changing it myself, but I was wondering if you lovely lot might be able to point me in the direction of a good quality, sensibly priced, strap maker/seller, be they online or a walk-in store?

The Geneva
This line, created in 1953, was made as an homage to our workshops in Geneva where OMEGAs best regulators were working. The regulations of the Geneva Observatory stated that a brand must be present in the canton of Geneva to compete in the observatory trials there, so as the undisputed masters of the timing trials in Switzerland OMEGA naturally wanted to show their dominance at all observatories and as such opened a workshop there in 1917. The line would see several evolutions and would represent 60% of the brands production by 1970. The line was finally discontinued in 1979 as the law in Geneva stipulates that a brand must have a presence in the canton of Geneva to include the word Geneva or any variation of on the dial.

If you dont have the certificate - or papers as they call it , If you can get a jeweller to pop the back off - you can get the serial number and Omega will confirm movement number and history. Just to warn you - a full service on one of these likely to be £150 plus - there are a few on the TZ forums than can do it - have used before and they do an excellent job and far more economic than the high street

Give http://www.steveostraps.com an email, he is a really top guy, and hand makes everything in the Uk. He will make stuff to order to your spec even if not listed on the website, for a fraction of the price of most others.

Thanks - certainly the years seem about right as I think this was his 40th Birthday present from my grandmother.The Geneva

And thanks again to everyone else for the suggestions - I will certainly be looking into Steveo Straps and getting hold of the correct buckle for it.
I wouldn't worry too much about Geneve/DeVille. The same watches were available with both diversification brands and the differences were cosmetic. They had to stop using the Geneve brand though, because it was misleading.
With regards to the actual model: remove the case back and look at the model number stamped into the inside. It will be something similar to 135.011.

Got a Constellation for my dad in 67, cost me £50 in Singapore. I inherited it when he died and I gave it to my son, who keeps it in its box, he has never worn it. My dad only wore it weekends.I have a 1964 Omega Constellation which is similar
