My missus has a couple if Omegas. She is most partial to her little (small quartz) seamaster with blue face and s/steel strap. Sound investment too.
Really? I thought women's watches were virtually worthless used.M.
My wife has one of these, an Ebel Sportwave ,with the 18k gold accents it looks feminine, classy and does not break the bank. It's a sale price too ... result.

I bought my wife one of these: http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Longines-Flagship-Ladi... which is a nice looking, elegant watch; in my opinion anyway. They retail at £1,070 so that gives you a few hundred quid to treat her to a nice meal / overnight stay somewhere.
I bought my wife the same watch, but got Ernest Jones to order a version direct from Longines, with a mother of pearl face. Really makes it stand out and complete the look. I thought the white face looked a bit plain.Build quality compare to the Tag's is superb and is great for an occasion.
I also looked at the ladies Omega Deville, similar to the one below (it is a quartz though).

Other things to consider - Cartier Tank or Ebel?

My wife is having a pretty stty time at the moment and I have promised myself I'd buy her a decent watch for years but have never got around to it.
If she's going through a bit of a crappy period, and as an alternative idea to spending £1.5k on a watch, how about using some of that budget on a night or two away - just you and her - with a watch buying trip thrown in? Quality couple time and the pair of you can peruse watch shops together Edited by CardShark on Friday 13th May 20:26
