I have a hankering for a bit of colour on my watch and cant decide on whether to part ex for the new GMT master II BLNR or a circa 2002 GMT master II Pepsi.

Is this a silly move as I do love my seadweller as its a bit beefier than the GMT's. But ive had it for 10 years now so maybe time for a change.

Yep, if you're looking then probably time to change, you can always change again to something else or go back as loads of 16600s around should you want to.

No no and no again. The SD is the one. Get a gmt and she e if it feels right. But don't sell the SD you'll regret it

100% guarantee this.

Mike

Ps my SD followed a sub (still have) a gmt a dssd but it's still the daily watch. Its what the sub date should be but isn't

The BLNR feels a much better watch than the 2002 SD, I'm thinking of doing the same.

If you can afford to I'd hang onto the SD, the good thing about steel Rolex are that they tend not to depreciate over time.

I have a 1999 Pepsi GMT and a 2014 BLNR and love both

This is good advice.

However if you want to trade, do what you want. I had a "coke" bezel GMT II and traded it for my BLNR.
More recently I traded two watches (a newer Seadweller 4000 and a Sub 16610LV) for a 116619LB Sub "smurF" and am very happy with the trade.

Own both rather than one or the other!

I have a 2002 Coke 16710 but would never sell it or trade it in for the BLNR.

Values seem to be shooting up (nearly £6k on WF without papers!)

I'd rather buy the BLNR outright. Not prepared to pay over list tho. WF are racking them up to £7k

I bought a Pepsi GMT recently for all the reasons you give.
It's a beautiful watch, and I've been wearing it for the last month.
I met a friend with an SD last week, and am so glad I didn't px it.
Putting it on this morning, the SD is so much more chunky.
The proud crystal just stands out.
Keep the Dweller.
Get finance on a GMT.
You won't regret it

I really do not want to like the GMT.

But... I really do like it.

I bought a Coke to supplement my SD, for a flash of colour - I'd have real trouble deciding what to sell!

Didn't realise prices on the GMTII had gone up so much... Best not tell Mrs9!

My daily Sub Date would be first to go, I'm sure...

I did enquire about a part ex here

http://www.ukspecialistwatches.co.uk/shop/rolex-wa...

They offered my 4K on mine, without service but all documents. Which isn't bad considering it has light scratches and has never been serviced in 11 years of ownership.

But £6150 for a GMT II, you can see the original receipt in picture for £2350!

They have another one at £4650 without papers, can papers demand another £1500!

I'm never selling my 16600 SD. I did with the first one and do not intend to make that mistake again.

The BLNR GMT is a cracking watch, but when I sold mine last year, it didn't hurt that much.

Wowsa £6,150 sounds a lot for a GMT 2?

I paid £3,250 for my unworn 1999 Pepsi in 2013 from a chap on TZUK forum

Here's a better photo of the two together that I just took

If Pepsi's are worth more I'll pop into Rolex St James and change from Coke to Pepsi for £65

Dom Hackett has one at £4600 which is more like it, what is D - series? It has no lug holes so I guess its around 2005.

But listening to PH massive I should keep hold of the dweller

No one would call you a fool for swapping, if you're feeling like a change then do so. Just do it because you really want to, not because you can.
