It's a Rolex Chronograph with a long history.

If you like it, why not.

For me, it never really ticks the box (And I always wanted to like it as Winners of Daytona and Le Mans 24 Hours get one).

I'm not a Rolex fan, generally, but the Daytona (even ignoring some of the horrors inflicted on it - Brown bezel and watery blue dial!) always seems a bit out of proportion to me somehow.

Nice enough, but in my humble opinion not enough to justify the hype or stupid mark up ceramics have at the moment. I also find it funny that the previously unobtanium regular stainless variants are now suddenly readily available..

Each to their own, had one for a while, great watch with one of the best chronograph movements designed after the El Primero. A tad small for some at 38.9mm. The new ceramic models do nothing for me, the black is quite boring and the white just mimics the previous Zenith version, which I wasn't keen on.

Good to hear the pre-ceramics are coming out of the woodwork, I might just have another

I think they are great! Really fancy a pre ceramic black dial but 2015 ones are going at £2k or so above list still :roll eyes:

I have seen two in ADs in the past month...focus has switched to ceramic so they are easily available now.

They've introduced larger cased versions of a good few of their range, not that I'm in the market for one I'm still glad Rolex resisted with the Daytona.

Blue dialed platinum model for me please, if someone else is paying!

I was very unsure about the ceramic Daytona from all the photos.
However, in the flesh, it looks stunning. I was planning to sell mine but once I saw it - not sure

Good intel, thanks, will have a scout around! Had only seen grey market prices and assumed it was a reflection of broader availability. Will check it out.....cheers.

I love the Daytona, originally I never understood it and bought a sea dweller instead. Then after about 10 years of owning the sea dweller I started to long for a Daytona. I now own several(different versions and dial colours). They are lovely watches, white dial with a suit and black dial with jeans.

I always loved the idea of a Daytona and still love the way they look - However it was far less impressive on my wrist than I had hoped.

My friend had a black faced non ceramic and it just felt a bit small and busy. I have a Rolex Explorer (39mm) and it looked loads bigger. My friend and I agreed that mine was actually the nicer of the two.

That said I would still have one, when I tried on the platinum version I fell in love :-)

It's a beautiful watch.

Just a bit too ubiquitous now..... Seen everywhere - bit like the Porsche 911 really.
Kinda killed the "specialness" of it!

The face I like only comes on the white gold version frown

Nevermind, I'll have to make do with my Zenith el Primero.

Doesn't do anything for me but I certainly wouldn't call it "useless bling" so haven't voted in the poll.
