My Breitling B2 is definitely in need of a service, and it's not cheap! I'm also a bit bored with it, so was thinking of trading it in for something else anyway. Does it make sense to get it serviced before selling, or would a dealer just take the cost of servicing it into account either way?

I don't really fancy the potential hassle of selling it privately.

I've sold two or three watches to dealers and never been asked about service history. Most will just give it a quick polish before putting it up for sale. I wouldn't bother with getting it serviced as you'll never get your money back. At most, the service will make it more saleable.
