Good on you OP, hope you find a suitable one and enjoy it. I've been promising myself one for years now and might actually get around to doing something about it this year! I'm still struggling to get my head around the various models etc though. Is there a definitive guide to all the models somewhere?

I'm looking into this new one. It's a Automobile club de Monaco version. Thoughts please.

It only seems a few years ago when these were £1700 new full up retail, I should've bought one then.

Nice watches. I have a 2006 & the latest Heuer branded re-release.

I do miss the plexiglass on the newer watches though.

I paid £1800 for mine about 15 years ago.

I have worn it everyday since. It has been serviced a couple of times and it probably needs a new face, but it has never let me down.

I have bought a couple of other watches over this period but always preferred the Monaco.

I have one of these although I fitted a blue leather strap to match the face, always wanted a Monaco and when I got the chance at a great price(cancelled order) SWMBO gave the order to get it, I just had to obey.

I popped into the Bicester store last night. They still had the Automobile Club special edition plus a pair of very nice Heuer only badged Monza and Monaco's. The latter especially was very tempting.

Do you have an idea on the prices of the Monaco vs list? I can't seem to find any tangible info on the net with regards to how much discount they actually give and how that compares to haggling with an independent jeweller.

I have been in touch with the Bicester shop over the weekend, they replied as per below, the watches are around the £3000 mark but are limited edition and discontinued items that they haven't sold elsewhere. I wanted a blue face original type Monaco but it looks like you won't get one at Bicester I'm afraid

Alan,

Thank you for your email,

We are an outlet store so stock previous seasons products, The current stock on the website is only available full price.
Watches like the Blue Monaco are prestigious lines and are very unlikely to ever go into the outlet as they usually sell through in full price and they would never discount a watch that is so sought after.
We do get variants of the Monaco as my colleague has explained previous but all are discontinued lines hence why we reduce them here.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Kind Regards
