If it has to be an authorised dealer not grey market best bet would be to find something else you fancy as a third treat which isnt a Rolex and get the discount on this.

I have done this a few times getting a substantial discount on rings earrings etc for the wife.

Buy the watch from Australia, otherwise you will end up paying import duty on it.

Or, if you want a cheap break, take a flight to a country outside of the EU and buy them at an airport. Make sure they have a Rolex AD at the airport of course, and ask them to post the boxes and paperwork to your home address and wear the watches so that customs can't charge you

Well some said today 01/08 would be the day but nothing yet, although I'd heard PP are up 10% today.

Truth is we won't know till it happens with Rolex, but it is likely, but then again?

Both PP and Rolex (and others) put their prices up regularly because they can. It increases demand, helps them maintain market position, and lifts second hand prices, so maintaining the belief that "you'll never lose your money on a Rolex".

When was the last Rolex price rise?
June 2012, so it can't really be regarded as regular.

Done some homework, no price increases yet that I can see and no discount on steel sports as Master Bean has already said. Would be grateful if someone could confirm that if I purchase in the UK and take to Australia there will be no more duty to be paid........in fact, someone mentioned that I would be able to reclaim the VAT?

If you're buying from an AD, you'll be able to reclaim the VAT once you and the watches permanently leave the EU. There is a luxury goods tax and duty into Australia of c10% or so.

Cheers
